If minor children are among the survivors, birth or baptismal records should be furnished, containing the names of both parents and date of birth. If the children were adopted, a copy of the court order should be provided. 4. Parents filing a claim must establish their relationship to the veteran by furnishing VA with a certified copy of the veteran's birth or baptismal certificate containing the names of both parents.
