TEACHER AT CONFERENCE
Gertrude Powell of the local Teachers Association was among the 360 chapters of the California Teachers Association attending the three-day conference held in Asilomar this week. The conference, designed to train local presidents, featured meetings on 35 different subjects with which each local president should be conversant. Special emphasis was put on the professional duties of teachers, including maintenance of high standards, improvement in teacher methods and self-discipline in the profession.
