NAHEIMERS GRADUATE Thad T. Owens, apprentice petty officer second class, USN, 10402 Dickel St., Anaheim, and Clive E. Waite, apprentice petty officer third class, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. E. R. Waite of 9702 Decker Ave., Anaheim, graduated Aug. 10, from recruit Training at the Naval Training Center in San Diego. Apprentice petty officers are chosen from the ranks of the sea-man recruits to assist Company commanders. The selection is based on individual aptitude and leadership qualities. OUT OF "BOOT CAMP" William L. Masney, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul W. Lewandowski of 1806 E. Sycamore, Anaheim, graduated from recruit training Aug. 24 at the Naval Training Center in San Diego. The graduation exercises, marking the end of nine weeks of "boot camp", included a full dress parade and review before military officials and civilian dignitaries. In nine weeks of instruction, the "raw recruit" is developed into a Navy Blue-jacket, ready for duty with the fleet. INVITING THE UNDERTAKER Place in the lab of another driver the dilemma of a multiple collision, by bulling out from the curb without signal of your intention. Brazil is practically the only source of bountiful quantities of high-grade quartz crystals, important in precision instruments. The deepest descent by man into the ocean — 10,300 feet — was made by Prof Auguste Piccard of France in 1953. Each year citizens of the United States read approximately 18 billion, 500 million newspapers. Santa Fe, New Mexico, was founded in 1610, by Spanish colonists, on the site of a small Tano Indian village called P'oge. Arid and semiarid areas, with low food productivity, cover between one-quarter and one-third of the earth's land surface. LEGAL NOTICE (Pub. Anaheim Gazette Sept. 5, 12, 19 and 28, 1957.)
