FAR-REACHING PLANS for Bellehurst, the planned major quality home development recently announced for the Orange County Area, are here discussed by Wilfred D. Talks Recorded By Toastmasters The chance to hear themselves as others hear them was given members of Fullerton Toastmasters No. 1205, at their last meeting. Table topic speeches were tape recorded and played back for the benefit of the members. Table topics trophy was awarded to Howard Lusk, who expounded on the subject, "Guest in My House", 'Best Speaker' honors went to Ralph Gillman, who discussed "Rambling and Bragging", a first person account of his life to date. Hugh Cook won 'Most Improved Speaker' award with his moving appeal for consideration to retarded children labeled, "Children Limited". At the next regular meeting Toastmaster John Titus will introduce the evening speakers including Bob Gallager, Ted Hahn, Russ Svleven and Bob Knickrehm. Table topics will be led by Dave Hammond, with Jack Francis as general evaluator. Toastmasters No. 1205 holds regular dinner meetings each Tuesday evening at "The Mill", near the Fullerton Airport. Men interested in membership should contact Bob Gallager at KEystone. New Appointment To Co. CD Office Joining the Office of Civil Defense of the County of Orange, is Will H. Perry, Jr., of Anaheim, as a Deputy Director, it was announced today by Willis H. Warner, Chairman, Board of Supervisors. Perry, a former resident of Modoc County where he was engaged in ranching, has had a background of fire administration and general business management. The 31 year-old deputy director served in the Korean campaign as a First Lieutenant in the 25th Infantry Division. He is married and the father of three children. His work in the Civil Defense Department of Orange County will be principally in the organizational field, according to R. I. (Cuba) Morris, Assistant Director and head of the CD program. Perry will assist Morris in other aspects of the office including special assignments. Other staff members of the department include Spurgeon Sparks, Deputy Director, and the office management staff including Mrs. Helen Turnbough and Toastmaster John Titus will introduce the evening speakers including Bob Gallager, Ted Hahn, Russ Svleven and Bob Knickrehm. ANAHEIM EUCALYPTUS WATER COMPANY by Walter A. Kempin, Secor, Auto Influx Sets New Record in State, Southland Automobile Influx Into California and the southland continued record-breaking pace during first half of 1957, the Automobile Club of Southern California reported today. Some 827,080 out-of-state cars carrying 2,206,223 passengers entered California in the past six months compared to 816,910 cars with 2,133,354 passengers during the same period in 1956, the Club said. The cars that entered southern California in the first half of 1957 represents a five and one-half percent increase over the 441,327 entries at the semi-annual mark last year. In 1961, when the new 1,050-acre site for the California State Fair and Exposition is expected to be ready and operating, Aug. 28-Sept. 8, it will have been exactly 100 years since the fair was permanently established in Sacramento. Lela Kavanaugh, president of the Minnesota State Soil Long Beach, has announced annual picnic will be held July 21, at Bixby Park Beach. The program will at one o'clock. Blodgett, machinists mate third class, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. H./B. Blodgett of 1406 Hukee Ave., Anaheim, aboard the radar picket destroyer USS Perkins, returned to San Diego, June 16 after a five month cruise in the western Pacific. While in the Far East operational and hunter killer exercises were conducted with units of the U.S. Seventh Fleet.
