"MOKE FOR YOUR BUILDING DOLLAR" Electric cooking keeps more juice in roast chicken—because it's flameless! When you cook electrically there's no draft of constantly changing air because there's no flame. (Flame, you see, needs air to breathe. So a flame-heated oven constantly inhales dry air, exhales moist air—literally cooks meat in a hot draft that evaporates good juices.) In an electric oven there's no draft of dry air. You cook with moist heat. As a result, more juice stays in the meat...and the meat tastes better. When you cook electrically there's no draft of constantly changing air because there's no flame. In an electric oven there's no draft of dry air. You cook with moist heat. As a result, more juice stays in the meat...and the meat tastes better. Electric cooking is far cooler, too. As much as 16° cooler. The reason is obvious: electric cooking puts the heat directly into the food, not into the room. Electric cooking is cleaner, too, because it's flameless. There are no by-products of combustion to dirty walls and darken your bright pans. Truly, it's the only modern way to cook. Flameless electric cooking costs about $1.50 a month for a family of 4 GIFT REGISTRY HELP TO BRIDE One of the most practical and modern ideas that emerges from the welter of romantic and traditional wedding preparations is the store gift registry. Every wise bride-to-be today checks on her local facilities and, just as soon as the day is set, hurries along to register. At the store, a trained salesgirl will help the bride choose the tableware, kitchenware and other housewares of her preference and will note the designs and colors and other relevant details. All friends and relatives seeking advice on the perplexing problem of "what-to-give" can tactfully be referred to the registry, where they will get discreet guidance on what has already been bought and what the bride really needs and wants. The gift registry assists beautifully in shower plans. The guests decide ahead of time how much to contribute. One of the girls, usually the hostess, visits the bridal gift consultant in the store where the bride has registered and tells her the total amount to be spent on whatever the theme is—kitchen shower, steel shower, etc. The consultant does the rest—selects the gifts according to what the bride already has, what is left on her list—and has them prettily wrapped. The presents are then given with one big card bearing all the donors' names.
