Market Basket Here's What You Serve At A CHICK-N-QUE To Make It a Sure-Fire Success! • CHICKENS BARBECUED • OCEAN SPRAY CRANBERRY SAUCE • POTATOES BAKED IN REYNOLDS WRAP • TOSSED GREEN SALAD • COCA-COLA Recipe for Chick-N-Que Sauce ½ Cup Mazola Oil 3 Tablespoons Sugar ¼ Cup Lemon Juice or Cider Vinegar 1 ½ Teaspoons Tabasco Sauce ¼ Cup Water 2 to 3 Broiler-Fryer Chickens, split lengthwise, quartered, or breast and leg parts To Prepare Sauce: Measure Mazola Oil, lemon juice or vinegar, water, salt, sugar and Tabasco into saucepan. Heat to boiling. Keep hot for basting chicken. Mix thoroughly before each basting. If you prefer a highly seasoned sauce increase Tabasco and add mustard and Worcestershire sauce. To Barbecue Chicken: *If using halves or quarters, hook wing tip behind shoulder joint onto bock. Brush with the barbecue sauce. Place on grate set -12 inches or more from heat—skin side away from heat. Cook slowly until tender, turning frequently and basting each time. Allow 1 to 1¼ hours total cooking time. Drumstick should twist easily out of thigh joint. If parts are used, thickest pieces should be fork-tender. Just before serving brush chicken with any lettuce sauce or use for dunking. *Excellent results depend upon slow cooking—glowing coals not flame! and proper distance from heat. ENCORE —1-LB. FARMERS' FEDERATION Organized to represent farmers on world affairs, International Federation of Agricultural Producers (IFAP) is a world federation comprised of 43 farm organizations in 28 countries and represents 35 million farmers. FARM CREDIT NEAR RECORD Farm credit held by banks — now near a record high level — remains on a sound basis, with forced sales and delinquencies infrequent, bankers in rural areas across the nation have reported to the American Bankers Association. Not only is the farm credit picture bright, but it is brighter than at this time last year. FREE CIRCULAR The University of California has issued a free circular to help farmers decide what they want from financial records and then how to achieve their wants with the least possible expenditure of time and money. Entitled "Financial Records for California Farmers," circular 460 may be obtained through the University of California, Agricultural Publications, 22 Giannini Hall, Berkeley 4, California.
