M2 - Annheims Gazette Anneheim Gazette, Thursday, Jan. 16, 1957 ASC Officers Named; Take Over on Jan. 1 The results of the election of county committeemen who are to administer the Agricultural Stabilization and Conservation programs of the U. S. Department of Agriculture locally for the coming year have been tabulated by the special committee for that purpose, headed by Stephen Griiset of the Santa Ana area. The farmer receiving the highest number of votes and therefore chairman is Henry T. Segerstrom, field crop producer in the Santa Ana area. Second vice-chairman is Glenn E. Mathis, livestock producer in the El Toro area. Third is Ernest L. Danker, citrus and avocado producer of Yorba Linda. These three comprise the regular committee. Alternates elected to serve absence of one or more regular committee are: first cil Farnsworth, field crop er of Tustin and Talbert and second, Francis Grisel crop producer of the Santa area. The new chairman, Henry Segerstrom, stated that the 1957 Agricultural Conservation Program will be announced immediately after Jan. 1, but farmers wishing to cooperate or participate prior to receipt of the announcement may contact the county office and make preliminary arrangements at any time. The county ASC office is located at 622 N. Main St. in Santa Ana. LAW COURSE SLATED BY PCU The Law School of Pacific Coast University in Long Beach will offer a complete course on criminal law and procedure. The Class will meet Wednesday and Friday evenings at Woodrow Wilson campus beginning January 2. The course will include a thorough presentation of criminal law and all problems of criminal procedure. The class is open to the public and the credits earned can be applied toward the degree of Laws. It is applicable to the Federal-Government State of California for an training. OCC Registrar From Jan. 2 to Jan. 24, counseling appointments registration at Orange College are now being taken to Dr. Donald Pehlke students. Actual registration will begin Jan. 2 to Jan. 24, but mentions for counseling made before a student entered for classes, Pehlke said. Spring classes at Oran start Jan. 28. Actual registration will be from Jan. 2 to Jan. 24, but appointments for counseling must be made before a student can register for classes, Pehlke said. Spring classes at Orange Coast start Jan. 28. A record 1512 students are now enrolled in the day program at Orange Coast. Those who make appointments for earlier registration will have the first opportunity in selection of classes, according to Pehlke. SMORGASBORD CASSEROLE 1 can (15½ oz.) cut green beans 1 can (14½ oz.) cut asparagus spears 2 tablespoons butter ¼ cup flour 2 cups milk ¾ teaspoon salt ¼ teaspoon celery seed 1½ tablespoons prepared mustard 1 cup chopped cooked ham 2 hard-cooked eggs (finely chopped) Grease an oblong 1½ qt. caserole; arrange the green beans and asparagus in the bottom. Melt the fat in a sauce pan, add flour and blend. Stir in the milk and cook until sauce is smooth and thick. Add salt, celery seed, and mustard to the sauce. Stir in the ham. Pour over the vegetables and top with the hard-cooked eggs which have been finely chopped. Bake in a moderate oven (350°F.) for 25 minutes. Makes 4 servings.
