Eduard, 8092 Hynes Rd., Anaheim, is receiving six weeks of training this summer aboard two battleships, two heavy cruisers and 16 destroyers, bound for ports in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, England and Germany. The future naval officers are undergoing "at sea" training in duties and life aboard a warship. Shrine Pagent To Further Work Crippled Children Once each year the slim "strong legs run that weak ray walk" is seen and heard the southland as a prelude to annual Shrine Pageant north-south pre-college all- football game at the Coliseum. This year's colorful event is fifth in the series. It is held Wednesday evening, Au. The proceeds from the sale tickets as usual go to Shriners hospital for Crippled Children in Los Angeles. Hospital is completely free debt. It is at this hospital that crushed bones are straightened deadened nerves invigorated that broken little bodies may reasonably normal lives. Little children from all walks of life, regardless of race, color or color are treated at the hospital. Right now there are boy and girl patients, and children have been treated, so the hospital opened in 1952. Elvira R. Valenzuela Vlvira R. Valenzuela, 72, active daughter of Anaheim father, Francisco Ruiz, was a tive son, died Saturday at noon at St. Joseph hospital a brief illness. Her home been in northern Orange County continuously and for some y it has been at 283 S. Laurel Brea. Our Servicemen Cadet Werner C. Eduard, son of Carl J. Eduard, 8092 Hynes Rd., Anaheim, is receiving six weeks of training this summer at Fort Riley, Kan., under the Army's ROTC program. The training, which ends Aug. 3, includes weapons firing, tactics and bivouac. Cadet Eduard is attending Wheaton (Ill.) College. Marine SSgt. Don E. Tucker, son of Mrs. Alma Tucker of 1215 W. Lincoln Ave., Anaheim, and husband of the former Miss Frances J. Gaskl of Orange, is serving with Aircraft Group 11 based at Atsugi, Japan, after arriving in Japan in May. The group is a unit of the 1st Marine Aircraft Wing. Standing an engine room watch aboard the battleship USS Iowa is Midshipman 1/c Forrest R. Hanvey, son of Mr. and Mrs. Thomas V. Taylor of 2201 Blanchard St., Anaheim. He is a senior at the Naval Academy. They left Norfolk, Va., June 5 aboard two battleships, two heavy cruisers and 16 destroyers, bound for ports in Sweden, Norway, Denmark, England and Germany. The future naval officers are undergoing "at sea" training in duties and life aboard a warship. Gunnery training at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba, will climax the cruise before the ships return to Norfolk August 2. Antonio Giannelli Claimed By Death Antonio Giannelli, born in Italy 70 years ago, passed away at the family home at 1269 E. Cypress St., this city, on Tuesday, July 17. He tame, with his family, from Massachusetts six months ago. Survivors are his wife, Marietta of the home; two daughters, Mrs. Genevieve J. De Flippo of Anaheim, and Mrs. Lucille Navarro of Mass.; seven grandchildren; three brothers and two sisters in the east. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church of Anaheim. Holy Rosary will be held in the chapel of Backs, Camph and Kaulbars Mortuary tonight Thursday, at 8 p.m. with M Friday morning at 9 o'clock in St. Anthony's Church. Alldredge, 55 years of age and a native of Texas, passed away at his home at 710 Geneva Street, this city, on Thursday of last week, July 12. He had been a resident of Anaheim since last October. Survivors are his wife, Elsie C. Alldredge of the home; one son, Thomas Alldredge of Houston, Tex.; three daughters, Mrs. Johanna Howard of Louisiana, Mrs. Jimmie Boggus of Fort Worth, Tex., and Mrs. Elline Scearse of Anaheim, and ten grandchildren. The Rev. The afternoon ceremony was held in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Placentia, with members of the family and a few close friends in attendance. The parents of the bridegroom were unable to attend. The weddingites were beautiful and simple with the Rev. Fr. Wesley J. Webster officiating. Mrs. Stanley Young was matron of honor with Leonard Troelder the best man. Following the reception at Catilla de San Antonio, the young couple left for Santa Catalina for a honeymoon trip and upon their return will establish their home in Anaheim. Interment followed in Anaheim cemetery. 2 Anaheim Kids Attend Crippled Children's Camp Two Anaheim children, Carl Casperson, 9, of 1782 Westmont Drive, and Linda Merrill, 8, of 2105 Hiawatha Ave. are among the 126 children who left Monday, July 9, for two weeks of fun and outdoor living at a summer camp supported by the Crippled Children's Society of Los Angeles County. This trip is made possible by the thousands of Los Angeles citizens who earlier this year bought Easter seals which support Camp Palvika, near Crestline, in the San Bernardino Mountains. A total of about 600 children will enjoy a two week vacation at camp this summer. Palvika was specially designed for the comfort and safety of handicapped children, featuring concrete ramps for wheel chairs, heated pools, a lodge, a nature study building, and a handicrafts building. SHIP REPAIR ACT Sen. Thos. H. Kuchel reported the Senate Monday unanimously passed the Butler-Kuchel resolution extending the Emergency Ship Repair Act of 1954 for two more years. Under the act, $7,000,000 will be spent to rehabilitate mothballed cargo vessels. Kuchel said much of the work will be done by west coast firms employing thousands of workers.
