Scholarship Tea In May Planned By Panhellenic
The Northern Orange County Panhellenir Society will award four $250 scholarships at the annual Scholarship Tea in May. Senior women students in Anaheim.
Local FFA Team Compete in Shooting Citrus Judging
Anaheim Future Farm America team of the Anaheim High School was among teams entering the citrus competition at the National Show just ended in San Bernardino. The high individual in Norman Montague of Anaheim Entered in the lemon juice contest, Anaheim was one of winners with the individual petitio including Norman tague.
Junior college teams were entered in the division competition contests, the Santa and Fullerton Junior College ning their share of the trophy.
CHERRY FRENCH PUDDLE
1 pkg. vanilla pudding
1½ cups milk
½ cup heavy cream
1 No. 2 can cherries
1 cup sugar
3 tablespoons cornstarch
Cook pudding with milk adding to directions on package, to room temperature, stirring casionally. Whip cream and In. Pour directly into se dishes. Meanwhile, drain ¼ juice from cherries and mix cornstarch. Combine cherries, remaining juice with sugar bring to boiling point, stirr dissolve sugar. Stir in conrs mixture gradually and boil thickened, stirring occasion pour over cooled pudding.

CALIFORNIA FRUIT LOAF
¼ cup butter or margarine
½ cup dark brown sugar
2 teaspoons grated lemon rind
2 teaspoons grated orange rind
1 egg, unbeaten
1 cup cottage cheese
1½ cups sifted flour
1½ teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon soda
½ tspoon salt
½ cup chopped dried prunes
½ cup chopped dried apricots
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cream butter, sugar and rinds. Beat in egg; stir in cheese. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt; add with fruits to first mixture. Mix well.
Pack in greased loaf pan, 8½" x 4½" x 3". Bake 1 hour. Cool; wrap. Store in refrigerator. Serve with tea or sherry wine.

Scholarship Tea In May Planned By Panhellenic
The Northern Orange County Panhellenir Society will award four $250 scholarships at the annual Scholarship Tea in May. Senior women students in Anaheim, Fullerton, Brea and Valencia High schools and at Fullerton Junior college, who expect to go on to a four year college, are invited to make application, according to Mmes. C. J. Thompson and Morton Smith who are in charge of publicity.
Applications for these scholarships are available at the dean of womens' offices at each of the schools and are to be filled out and returned to the deans' offices not later than April 15. Awards will be made on the basis of scholarship, leadership, character and need.
Mmes. Donald Young and Dale Rather are in charge of arrangements for the Scholarship Tea which will honor senior graduates and their mothers.

Pineapple Dessert Pancakes
1 cup sifted flour
¼ teaspoon salt
2 eggs
¼ cup milk
2 tablespoons melted butter or margarine
1 tablespoon cornstarch
¼ cup sugar
2 cups crushed pineapple
2 tablespoons lemon juice
Sift flour, measure, and sift into mixing bowl with salt. Beat eggs and stir in milk. Add to flour and beat until smooth. Stir in melted butter or margarine. Heat a 7-inch frying pan and pour in 1 or 2 tablespoons batter, tilt pan so that batter spreads evenly over the surface.
SUNDAY DINNER Suggestions
Here is another out-of-the-nary Sunday dinner menu gestored for your family's enjoyment by the AdP Service For Homesern. It's for savory liven, potato and peas, orange salad and In pudding a la mode. Serves four Brown half pound sausage Lightly; add two sliced onions brown. Push to side of skillet; three-fourths pound pork liver in strips one-half by two inches five minutes, stirring. Mix meat sprinkle with two tablespoons flour stir and add one cup water. Bowl and simmer two or three minutes. Add few drops bottled for gravy, K desired. Season.
For vegetables, cube two potatoes and cook until almost done. Add one box frozen peas; five minutes longer. Season. Salt serve slices of orange on a pancake with French dressing.
For dessert, mix two cups with six tablespoons nonfat milk. Scald in top part of boiler. Mix quarter cup yellow meal with one-third cup water to scaled milk, stirring constantly. Cook twenty minutes. Add quince macerates, three tablespoons ar, quarter teaspoon salt and teaspoon膏. Pour into shaker one-quartz baking dish. Bake in oven from one to one-one-half hours. Stir once baking. Serve warm with v ice cream (allow half pint or more).
LOW CALORIE CHERRY COBBLER
1½ cups sifted flour
2 teaspoons baking powder
½ teaspoon salt
¼ cup shortening
¼ cup skim milk
4 teaspoons liquid noncalorie sweetener
1 egg, beaten
2 cups water-packed sour
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Cream butter, sugar and rinds. Beat in egg; stir in cheese. Sift together flour, baking powder, soda and salt; add with fruits to first mixture. Mix well.
Pack in greased loaf pan, 8½" x 4½" x 3". Bake 1 hour. Cool; wrap. Store in refrigerator. Serve with tea or sherry wine.

½ cup diced green pepper
2 tablespoons minced onion
¼ cup butter or margarine
¼ cup flour
2 cups milk
1 teaspoon salt
½ teaspoon pepper
2 medium potatoes, cooked and diced
1 4-ounce can mushroom pieces, drained
1 pimiento, diced
½ cup grated American cheese
Cook green pepper and onion in butter or margarine until tender. Stir in flour and add milk, stirring constantly until thickened. Season. Add diced lamb, potatoes, mushrooms and pimento. Mix well and pour into greased 1-quart casserole. Sprinkle with grated American cheese and bake in moderate oven (375 deg F.) 15 minutes or until heated through and lightly browned. Yield: 4 to 6 servings.
ANCHOVY TOAST FINGERS
Cut crusts from thinly sliced bread, and cut bread into strips about one inch wide. Toast on one side. On untoasted side, place anchovy strips and slide under broiler. When anchovies are heated, brush with butter and sprinkle with chopped parsley.

2 cups crushed pineapple
2 tablespoons lemon juice
Sift flour, measure, and sift into mixing bowl with salt. Beat eggs and stir in milk. Add to flour and beat until smooth. Stir in melted butter or margarine. Heat a 7-inch frying pan and pour in 1 or 2 tablespoons batter, tilt pan so that batter spreads evenly over pan. Brown on both sides. As cakes are cooked, stack them on a plate and cover with an inverted pan to keep them warm.
Mix cornstarch and sugar in a saucepan. Stir in crushed pineapple and lemon juice. Bring mixture to a boil and boil 1 minute. Cool slightly. Spread pineapple mixture on pancakes and roll. Sprinkle lightly with powdered sugar. The filled cakes may also be kept warm in a slow oven (250 degrees) until ready to serve.
Makes 16 small pineapple cakes, serves 4.
LOW CALORIE LIME SHERBET
1½ cups water
1 teaspoon finely grated lime rind
4 teaspoons liquid noncaloric sweetener
¼ cup lime juice
½ teaspoon green food coloring
1 cup evaporated milk
1 package frozen melon balls
Mix one-half of the water with rind and sweetener in a saucepan. Cook covered over low heat 3 minutes. Remove from heat; add lime juice, 1 cup water and coloring. Stir in milk. Mixture will curdle slightly now but become smooth when frozen.
Strain into freezing tray and freeze until almost firm. Turn into chilled bowl. Break with a fork.
ROYAL JEWELL MOLTEN
1 No. 2 can dark sweet cherry.
1 package orange gelatin
1 cup boiling water ...
1 cup cherry syrup
2 tablespoons orange juice
¾ cup diced orange section.
Drain and pit cherries, syrup. Dissolve gelatin in ing water. Add cherry syrup or orange juice. Chill until soft set. Fold in pitted cherries and orange sections. Pour into mold and chill until firm.
On crisp lettuce. Serves 6.
Beat until creamy. Return to or freezer carton. Freeze. Seal parfait glasses with melon mousse. Makes 8 parfaits. Calories: 80 per serving.

Anaheim Future Farmers of America team of the Anaheim Union High School was among the teams entering the citrus judging competition at the National Orange Show just ended in San Bernardo. The high individual includes Norman Montague of Anaheim.
Entered in the lemon judging contest, Anaheim was one of the winners with the individual committee including Norman Monigue.
Junior college teams were also entered in the division classification contests, the Santa Ana and Fullerton Junior Colleges winning their share of the trophies.

GOOD FRIDAY SERVICE AT WHITE TEMPLE
In observance of Good Friday, a community worship service will be sponsored by the Association of Christian Churches of Anaheim. The Rev. Alexander McCandless, chairman of the worship committee will give the call to worship at noon at White Temple Methodist church.
The public is welcome to attend any or all of the service which will be given in seven parts, according to the seven last words:
ALTRUSANS SET DATE FOR LUNCHEON
April 21 has been chosen by the Anaheim Altrusa Club as the date for its annual spring luncheon and card party. It will be held in the Garden Room of Knott's Berry Farm. Ways and means chairman Jerry Moon has announced that money derived will aid in the club's many philanthropies.
The recent Altrusa meeting at the Elks' Club was devoted to a resume of the 'Y' Teen tour of Europe. Mrs. Nan Moore, Altrusa member and coordinator, summer's tour, introduced Marian Taylor and Ann Tyson, two of the delegates to YMCA Centennial Conference Paris, who addressed the group.

HERE is another out-of-the ordinary Sunday dinner menu suggested for your family's enjoyment at the A&P Service For Homemaking. It's for savory lives, potatoes and peas, orange salad and Indian adding a la mode. Serves four. Brown half pound sausage meat lightly; add two sliced onions and onion. Push to side of skillet; add three-fourths pound pork liver, cut strips one-half by two inches. Fry five minutes, stirring. Mix meats and crinkle with two tablespoons flour; stir and add one cup water. Bring to boil and simmer two or three minutes. Add few drops bottled sauce or gravy, if desired. Season.
For vegetables, cube two pooled potatoes and cook until almost tender. Add one box frozen peas; cook five minutes longer. Season. For a salad serve slices of orange on sliced cucumber with French dressing.
For dessert, mix two cups water with six tablespoons nonfat dry milk. Scald in top part of double boiler. Mix quarter cup yellow corn meal with one-third cup water; add scalded milk, stirring constantly. Cook twenty minutes. Add quarter cup molasses, three tablespoons sugar, quarter teaspoon salt and half teaspoon ginger. Pour into shallow one-quart baking dish. Bake in moderate oven from one to one and one-half hours. Stir once during baking. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream (allow half pint or more).

Add to dry mix-e; stir till dampened. Mix rest sweetener with drained cherries in quart casserole; sprinkle with tapioca. Spoon batter on it. Bake 35 minutes. Serve 8 calories: 175 per serving.
