Scoggins-Davidson Wedding Rifles Solemnized Here Miss Wilma Jean Davidson was a beautiful bride when she exchanged marriage vows with James Roy Scoggins at Bethel Baptist church. The Rev. Wayne R. Davidson, pastor of the Assembly of God church, officiated there since the Assembly of God congregation is in the process of erecting a new church. The bride wore a white lace gown over taffeta and was given in marriage by her father. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Oran W. Davidson, 1013 E. Broadway. As she stood at the altar which was decorated with white stock and snapdragons, a pearl cap held her fingertip veil and she carried white camellias on a white Bible. Miss Barbara Davidson attended her sister as maid of honor. Bridesmaids were the Misses Lo retta Pratt, Carolyn Bonher and Marjorie Menefee. Flower girl was Belinda Cruse and the double rings were born by Michael Rhon of Huntington Beach. The bridegroom, son of Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Scoggins of Wilman Ark., was attended by David Mails as best man. Guests were seated by Fred Cruse, Wilson Hickem and Philip Davidson, the bride's brother. A reception followed in the social hall where Mrs. Philip Davidson was in charge of the guest book. Assisting were Miss Glenn Williams, Mrs. Leland Summerville, Miss Barbara Blake, Mrs. Galen Bonner and Mrs. Ray Brooks. After a honeymoon at Lake Arrowhead and Palm Springs, the couple will make their home in Orange. She is a graduate from South Western High school in Waxahachie, Texas, but also attended Anaheim High school. He was graduated from Drew Centre High school, Monticello, Ark., Arkansas A. and M. college and Southern California Bible college Costa Mesa. Theatre Arts Photo Milestones Both Charlotte Greenwood (left) and Margaret O'Brien reach notable points in their careers in a new film, "Glory." Clara L. Murray, 95, a native daughter born in Mendocino county and a life long resident of the state, of Anabeim for 36 years, died Monday evening on last week at a Los Angeles hospital after an extended illness. She would have celebrated her 96th birthday on Thursday, February 23. She is survived by one son Frank H. Murray of Van Nuys; one daughter, Mrs. Emille M. Walin of 816 S. Claudina Street, with whom Mrs. Murray resided for many years; 13 grandchildren among whom is John Wallin of Water St., assistant coach at Anabeim high school; 16 great-grandchildren and five great-great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Home Rebekah Lodge of W. Lou Artes. Funeral service was conducted by a member of the Christian Science church at Hilgenfeld memorial chapel Saturday at 2 o'clock. The ritual of the Lois Rebekah Lodge No. 268 was read, st. graveside in Loma Vista Memorial Park. SUMMERS-REAFSNYDER WEDDING SAT. Wearing a Cahill original helium gown of Italian silk with cathedral train, Miss Donna Laurene Reafsnyder became the bride of Delos Oren Summers in the First Presbyterian church last Saturday evening. Rev. Roland Anderson officiated at the double ring service. The bride is the daughter of the Raymond Reafsnyder of 521 No. Clementine St., and Mr. and Mrs. Harmon-W. Summers of 1648 E. center St., are parents of the bridegroom. Miss Reafsnyder was given in marriage by her father. She carried a bouquet of white tulips, carnations and hyacinths centered with an orchid. Her pearl necklace was a gift from the bridegroom. Bridal attendants in the flower decked sanctuary were maid of honor, Miss Jackie Elder and bridesmaids, Miss Mary Cone, Miss Lois Haskins and Miss Myrna Natland. They were gowned in identical gowns of iridescent blue-green taffeta and carried heart-shaped nosegays of pink carnations and hyacinths. As flower girl, little Miss Lynn Natland wore pink organdy with a green sash and pink band of flowers in her hair. Charles Summers carried the rings. Howard Summers of Rivera attended his brother as best man. Usheres were John Felkner, Roland Dominguez and Charles Peitzer. JULY WEDDING PLANNED July 14 has been the date set for the marriage of Kathryn Kopfer of this city and James Garrison, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Carson Garrison of Orange. They will be married in Capilla de San Antonio, according to her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Carl Kopfer of 712 W. Romneya Dr. She is a graduate of Anaheim Union High school and he of Orange Union High school. OBSERVE 61ST WEDDING Mr. and Mrs. J. W. Fitz of 207 So. Clementine St., have observed their 61st wedding anniversary. They were married on Feb. 19, 1893, in the Iowa Falls Baptist church. During the reception which followed in the social hall, the Women's Fellowship of the church were hostesses. Assisting with the serving were Misses Reynette Wallace, Susan Arnold, Gretheen Decker, Darlene Ames, Charlyn Schmild and Mrs. Richard Ralston. Mrs. Donald McCoy and Miss Carolyn Overman were in charge of the guest book. After a honeymoon trip through the southwest, the new Mr. and Mrs. Summers will be at home in Anaheim about March 4. She is a graduate of Anaheim Union High school and attended Long Beach City college. He also was graduated from Anaheim High school as well as Fullerton Junior college. After attending Long Beach City college he began work with the Smith-Reafsnyder Furniture Co., in this city. Clarence M. Piatt Dies After Long Illness Clarence M. Piatt, 80, a native of W. Virginia, who came to California 54 years ago and who lived in northern Orange county most of the time, the family home at present being 535 W. Florence St., La Habra, died last Wednesday night at the Lila Thuet Rest Home after a prolonged illness. He is survived by his wife, Nancy B. Piatt; one daughter, Mrs. Pearl P. Ward of La Habra; one son, Harold J. Piatt of South Gate; two sisters, Mrs. Ola Cochran and Mrs. Carrie Mangel both of Texas; one brother, Harry L. Piatt of Ohio and one grandson. Funeral services were conducted in Calvary Church of Placentia Monday at 2 p.m., Rev. Chester J. Padgett, pastor of the church, officiated. Burial followed in the family plot in Loma Vista Memorial Park. Andrew C. Cooper Passes Away Andrew Clark Cooper, a city employee for many years, passed away early Tuesday morning of last week at the Orange county general hospital after a prolonged illness. Born in Tennessee 77 years ago, he came to northern Orange county in 1907, malding his home in Anaheim the greater part of the time. The family home is at 111 McArthur Manor. Survivors are his wife, Ella M. Cooper of the home; one daughter, Mrs. Thelma Byard of Fullerton, and two grandchildren.
