The operation, a new ride called "Sky Ride", is part of a million dollar expansion planned for the park this summer. The "Sky Ride", being designed and built by Louis Von Roll Ironworks, Ltd., in Bern, Switzerland, will be the first ride of this type in the United States. Engineers and representatives of the Swiss firm have met with Walt Disney and his staff to complete plans for the new installation, which will cost an estimated $250,000. Visitors will ride aloft in a chair-type ski-lift which will give them a bird's-eye view of Disneyland. It will extend from Tomorrowland, over Holidayland and ending at Fantasyland. Each seat will hold two people and will be enclosed in a plastic-type bubble so that they may have an unobstructed view of the park and still see it in perfect safety.
