The ceremony was conducted by the Rev. Roland Anderson in the sanctuary and included every member of the club. A "reception" was held in the social hall. Punch was served and the evening devoted to visiting. The quarterly meeting began at 6:30 with a pot-luck supper and followed a Valentine theme. After the usual reports, the mock wedding was held. The meeting marked a new year for the Mariners. The new admirals, Ralph and Betty Hall, presided. They are assisted in club administration by Jack and Elaine Boettner, vice admirals; Al and Betty Weist, commodores; Russell and June Woodrum, lookouts; and Roland and Ruth Anderson, chaplains. Eight ships meet independently during each month. Members and friends of the church are invited to become Mariners in order to take part in a program of service and fellowship.
