Have Fun with Kites But Watch Do's and Dont's for Safety
It's kite season again, and the Southern California Edison Company wants boys and girls to get all the enjoyment they can out of this time of brisk breezes and outdoor fun, according to R. E. Bacon, district manager.
To help youngsters—and grown-ups, too—enjoy this ancient, oriental sport with maximum safety, the Edison Company again this year is offering its "dos" and don'ts" of kite-flying.
First among the safety tips is the warning to never fly kites near electric or trolley lines or over TV or radio aerials.
Aero-dynamicists of the future should not design or fly kites having wire, aluminum foil, or metal in the frame or tail, and they should never use tinsel string, wires, or twine that has a metallic substance.
Another important rule to remember concerns when and where to fly kites. Of course, the paper skimmers should not be sent aloft in the rain, and care should be taken never to run across streets or highways while trying to get kites into the air.
Finally, if a kite does catch in a power line, let go immediately! Don't pull the kite or try to climb the pole!

Only Chevrolet puts you in charge of the dynamite action and sure-fire handling qualities it takes to break the Pikes Peak record! Better try it before you plank down your dollars for any car at any price.
Almost everybody likes a real road car. And nowadays you no longer have to pay a king's ransom to own one. They're going at Chevrolet prices!
For the new Chevrolet is one of the few truly great road cars being built today! It has to be to hold the stock car record for the Pikes Peak climb. It has to have cannonball acceleration (horsepower now ranges up to 225!) and nailed-down stability on turns. It has to have easy, super-accurate steering, too—
