New Music Store Here Opened by Band Family
Walker's House of Music, at their new location at 220 N. Los Angeles street, will have as its owners-operators, a famous family of musicians and band masters. The new store will handle all types of band instruments and will employ a staff of competent instructors to teach.
Vesey Walker, through the advice of his physician, sought a new locale where he could "take it easy". He is still bandmaster of the Elks 99er Toppers band, famous for its appearance each year in the Rose Bowl parade in Pasadena. He plans to retire from this shortly after the first of the year. After spending time in a hospital for treatment of his rundown condition, Mr. Walker was offered the post of bandmaster at Disneyland for the summer season, leading a German band, an experiment at the local amusement park. The result has been one of the major attractions with its bright orange uniforms and precision marching.
Tommy Walker, his son, has relinquished his position as bandmaster at USC and is also with Disneyland, in the special events department. Both Walker's have purchased homes in Anaheim, Vesey Walker at 2409 Marian Ave., and Tommy has bought a home on the same street.
Since Disneyland is closed Monday of each week, the elder Mr. Walker had nothing to do, so he and his son called in another member of the family, Gail Beverly, who is married to the Walker daughter, Dianne. The trio have established the newest store in Anaheim. The Beverly family have also moved to Anaheim.
Generals Lee, Jackson and Johnston, famous generals in the Civil war, were born in the state of Virginia.

BUTLER-HUDSON WEDDING A RECENT EVENT
The Rev. Craig Carter officiated at the charming triple ring ceremony when Carol Butler and Ted Hudson were married in the Church of Religious Science, Santa Ana. The bride and groom exchanged wedding rings and then presented a ring to three-year-old Michele Butler, daughter of the bride, a gift from her new stepfather.
The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. J. R. McIntyre of 8671 Magnolia Ave. and was given in marriage by her father. She wore a short pink gown with white accessories and an orchid corsage.
She was attended by her cousin, Mrs. William Berry, who wore a blue ensemble with white accessories. William Berry served as best man.
After the nuptial rites, a reception was held at the home of the bride's parents. Assisting were Misses Nadine and Betty McIntyre, the bride's sisters. A centerpiece of orchids decorated the bride's table and other decorations featured a Christmas theme.
The new Mr. and Mrs. Hudson have delayed their honeymoon and are living in Anaheim. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs. F. M. Hudson, who came from their Everett, Wash., home to attend the wedding.
TWIN GIRLS
Karen Louise and Lisa Helen, born 14 minutes apart at St. Joseph hospital early Sunday of last week, came as a surprise to their parents, Police Officer and Mrs. Ronald H. Swing. Expecting one but receiving two babies is like "hitting the jack-pot" but the happy parents are grateful for their perfect Christmas present. Karen Louise weighed in at 5 lbs. 15 oz., and Lisa Helen tipped the scales at 6 lbs. 10 oz.
