Worthy Causes
Anaheimers have the good fortune of living in a city of friendly people — a city with traditional principles of neighborliness, good citizenship, and community service.
We congratulate the many citizens of Anaheim who participate
We congratulate the many citizens of Anaheim who participate in the campaigns for worthwhile community causes, who do their level best to make this a soundly progressive city, and who join in school, church, service, and recreational and festival activities.
Of course, we are happy to be part of such community projects as Anaheim’s Hallowe’en Festival and Parade, and we extend a pat on the shoulders of the men and women who have worked so hard to make the 32nd annual Hallowe’en event a success.
who have worked so hard to make the 32nd annual Hallowe’en event a success.
It is an example of how all of us — individuals, business firms, industries — can, by working together, share in the responsibilities of citizenship in our communities.

CENTER THEATRE TO OPEN IN NOVEMBER
Anaheimers will enjoy the services of another motion picture theatre Thanksgiving week when the old Grand theatre at Center and Philadelphia Sts., heretofore devoted entirely to Spanish-speaking films, will open after thorough remodeling, equipped for CinemaScope and English films.
The new palace will be called the Center Theatre. Sidney Pink, Covina and Jack White, Los Angeles theatre men, have announced that they will take possession of the building Nov. 1. Purchase was made from Antonio Blanco.
Complete and extensive remodeling is planned to give Anaheimers a theatre second to none in this area. Plans include construction of a new front and marquee, box office, and refreshment bar to provide a modern front for an auditorium which will seat 600 patrons on latest-type theatre seats, cushioned for comfort.
Of prime interest to movie fans hereabouts, will be top-flight films at admission prices lower than those prevailing for walk-in theatres, Mr. White, who will be manager of the theatre, announced.
Mr. Pink, White's associate in the enterprise, owns the theatres in Covina, Fontana and Los Angeles.
Junior Assistance League Plans Play
When the Junior Assistance League met at the home of Mrs. Stanley Loudon, 755 N. Pine St., final arrangements were made for the Children's Theater production of "Sleeping Beauty" to be presented Saturday, Nov. 19, at the Anaheim High school auditorium.
Two performances will be given, the first at 11 a.m., and a second at 2 p.m. The ticket donation will be 25 cents for children and 50 cents for adults. Tickets will go on sale at the schools on Wednesday, Nov. 16, and at the box office on the day of the performance.
Through the annual presentation of the Children's Theater, the Junior Assistance League is striving to bring to the children of the city an opportunity to see favorite classics at a price all can afford.
