"Most of the right-of-way violations noted by the Patrol involve drivers who fail to turn left at intersections, declared Patrol Commissioner B. R. Caldwell. 'Another collision causing violation of the rights of others involves drivers who fail to yield in obedience to stop signs.' Most of these actions are discontinuous." Anaheim Woman to Have 40 Exhibits Of Food at Fair One of the best cooks in Anaheim, Mrs. Lunnie Campbell, who lives at 218 S. She will have more than 40 separate entries of jams, jellies, preserves and pickles in the Domestic Arts department which may uphold her record in previous years being a top blue ribbon prize winner. She estimates that she will probably have 60 entries in the Pomona Fair since the premium list there is larger. Foreign Shipping Thru' L.A. Harbor Heaviest on Coast Foreign shipping commerce thru Port of Los Angeles is topping not only all other Pacific coast ports, but also the national average of some 53 major harbors of the United States, according to John F. Parkinson, traffic manager for the Los Angeles Harbor department. During the 12 months ending Dec. 31, 1954, Los Angeles Harbor Export and Import tonnage gained 268,337 tons or 15.8 per cent ahead of the 1953 total of 1,428,907 tons. Parkinson advised the Board of Harbor Commissioners. In the same period the national level of exports and imports of foreign goods remained identical with 1953 but the Port of Los Angeles high increase pulled Pacific coast ports up 2 per cent on the 1954 period over 1953. With care, however, this can stretch its life for years, says an article in the August issue of Better Homes & Gardens magazine. Proper storage is the key to a long lasting hose. Whether it is rubber or plastic, a hose ages fast in the summer sun, so it should be hung up where not in use. One way to get more service from a hose is to select attachments designed specifically to make the hose easier and faster to use. Several attachments will also make the hose last longer because they reduce wear, reports the article. To take care of normal wear and tear, practice simple steps of maintenance.
