The annual picnic took the shape of an elaborate turkey dinner with all the trimings under the general and able supervision of Mr. and Mrs. Ted Fischbach. Following the dinner, Postmaster Louis H. Hoskins welcomed all those present and presented a gift from the employees to Emil Dutzl who recently retired as custodian of the Anaheim post office. Assistant Postmaster Marshall N. McFle introduced 10 retired employees and their families. This marked the largest number of retired employees ever to attend this annual party. Superintendent of Malls, Carlton S. Barthelmes introduced 30 new employees who had joined the Anaheim post office family in the past year. Novel prizes were awarded by Postmaster Hoskins for the best looking carrier, the one with the biggest feet, the largest waistline as well as to one of the retired employee present who had been away from the post office the longest period of time. This was the largest group to ever gather and it was estimated there were approximately 220 present. Fischbach. Following the dinner, Postmaster Louls H.
