Mother-Daughter Banquet May 9 Arrangements for the annual mother-daughter banquet on May 9 were made during the First Presbyterian Church Women's Fellowship luncheon in the church social hall. Dinner will be served at 6:15 by the May circle led by Mrs. Robert Deale. The program theme is to be "sugar and spice and all things nice" according to Mrs. Rodney Parsons of the September circle which is in charge of the program. The luncheon tables were decorated with Spanish dolls by Mrs. Georgetta Eager and Mrs. Russell Ross in honor of the guest speaker, Mrs. Marjorie Leach of Laguna Moving - Storage General Trucking PHONE KE 5-2863 505 S. Miss Anita Schulz, soloist, entertained with a medley of Spanish songs. Mrs. Rodger Huebert gave devotions and Mrs. Ross was program chairman. Fellowship chairman, Mrs. Marion Pickel presided. She said there will be no regular meeting of the Fellowship in May because of the mother-laughter banquet. The Junior Assistance League will hold the "Starlight Ball" at the Santa Ana Country club on Saturday evening, April 30. Margaret Spires Weds Dave Booms Miss Margaret Spires of 9681 S. Western Ave., became the bride of David C. Booms, an employee of the City Water Dept., on Saturday. A Costa Mesa Justice of the peace, Donald Dodge, officiated. For her wedding, the bride chose a yellow frock which she wore with white accessories and a beautiful orchid corsage. Attendees were Miss Patricia Jones and Ray Meager. Following the simple ceremony an intimate reception for family and friends followed at the Harold Meager home at E. Center street. The new Mr. and Mrs. Booms are graduates of AUHS. She is the daughter of Mrs. F. Graskl of 1175 N. West St. His parents are Mr. and Mrs. Louis Booms of this city. They are making their home at 9681 S. Western Ave. A full day's outing was enjoyed on Tuesday by the Anaheim Home Department. Members met at the Tuckers' Wild Bird Sanctuary, 2933 Modjeska Rd., Modjeska Canyon. Mr. and Mrs. Edward Lawler, 611 N. Olive St., Apt. 2, welcomed a 6 lb. 8 oz. baby boy in St. Joseph hospital on April 21. 4-HClubbers For County Fair Anaheim 4-H Club meets are grooming livestock and try, putting finishing touch to clothing projects and stu food techniques for compet in the annual County 4-H Fair to be Saturday, May 7.
