Sixteen Employees Of Kwikset Locks Given Promotions Sixteen employees of Kwikset Locks, Inc., have received promotions during the past month. Receiving the promotions are: Les Marlin from shipping clerk to production control expeditor; L. B. Ellis from powdered metal leadman to master mechanic, powdered metals; Shirley Forsgren from secretary to executive secretary; Winifred Graham from stenographer to secretary; Jo Wymore, clerk "B" to clerk "A"; Gil Kochler, traffic manager to manager of traffic, receiving, shipping, warehouse; Bill Kjer, mechanical finishing operator "A" to storekeeper, primary parts; William Davidson, salvage operator to punch press operator "B"; Marguerite Dyke, laquer line loader and unloader to final assembler; Melvin Lain, powdered metals mechanic "B" to operator "A"; Billy Sumner, shipping leadman to advertising clerk; Tom Green, shipping clerk to shipping leadman; Theresa Brennan, assembly punch press operator to cylinder fabricator; Larry Hernandez, automatic polishing machine operator "B" to polisher and buffer "A"; Joe Madigan, industrial engineer to incentive administrator. Circle Meetings Held by Groups Of White Temple The White Temple April Circle meetings were held last Thursday. Girl Scouts and Brownies Entertain County Old Folks Five Brownie and Intermediate Girl Scout troops, representing 50 girls, participated in giving an Easter party at the Orange County Old Folks Home on Good Friday. Sponsors were the Stanton Lady Lions. Mrs. Florence Murokao, chairman, and Mrs. Julia Kiitano took charge of arrangements. Entertainment included dances and music. A variety of colorful costumes were used. The program was begun with an Irish jig danced by Lance Michelle and Terry Burnett, Kathy Spleer, Carolyn Binns, Vickie Stuart, Lee and Kit Parker, Loretta Bailey, Pat Phillips, Carol Johnson, Karen Ward, Ruth Wagner, and Dottie Escalante. Next was a Japanese dance by Katherine Okeda and Judy Miye. Lance Burnett followed with two accordion solos. After Carolyn Binns sang two Indian numbers, Vickie Stuart performed a Hawaiian dance. A skit by Gale Younts' troop preceded the grand finale which was a program of Brownie and Girl Scout songs sung by all the girls. Gifts made by the girls were distributed to each person in the Home. There were long strings of beads made by Mrs. Raymond Binns and Mrs. Donal Younts' troops, ceramic pins made by Mrs. Orval Burnett's girls. Mrs. Frank Stuart's group had make ashtrays for each of the men. Mrs. Cecil Bryan's scouts had made sachets for those ladies confined to bed. Magazines were distributed also. All this and refreshments, too! The girls had made bunny rabbit cookies. These were served with Of People by JOAN S. WHITE Mr. and Mrs. Robert Boney enjoyed a visit at their N. Helene St. home from their son-in-laws and daughter, Maj. and Mrs. Marianne Mellett who have just returned from a three-year tour of duty in Bavaria. Mrs. Max Hiltscher, retired president of Fremont P-TA, was guest of honor at a surprise luncheon party given by the Boys members in recognition of many years of service to the organization. A softball league for Anaheim and Fullerton women players being organized for early summer competition and games will play one night a week at local parks. Those interested are invited to call KE 5-7993. The Paddock Pool Co., has been chosen to make alterations additions to the city park plus by the Anaheim City Council Their was the low bid of $138. Circle Meetings Held by Groups Of White Temple The White Temple April Circle meetings were held last Thursday, in various members homes. The Goodyear Circle met with Mrs. G. M. Sparks, 738 N. Pine St., with Mrs. Stanley Hawkins assisting her mother in hostess duties. Mrs. Richard Goodyear presided over the meeting with Mrs. E. S. Williamson in charge of devotions. Mrs. C. I. Andrews presented the study book to the 20 members present. Next meeting will be with Mrs. Paul Demaree, 636 Live Oak Drive. Mrs. G. M. Bennett, 1248 Glenwood, hostessed the Russell Circle with Mrs. Harris assisting. Fourteen were present at the meeting over which Mrs. Russell presided with Mrs. Ernest Leep giving devotions. Mrs. Elmer Hamilton presented the study book to the group. The May meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Archie Engle, 1812 Cristine, Fullerton. Ashworth Circle The Ashworth Circle met with Mrs. Richard Cartwright, 813 N. Lenz, with Mrs. W. H. Martin as hostess to the 20 present. Mrs. Ashworth presided over her Circle with Mrs. Richard Cartwright in charge of devotions. Mrs. Harry N. Callen completed the study book. Members welcomed Mrs. H. J. Fackiner back after four months absence. Next meeting will be with Mrs. Bernard S. Ashworth, 722 South Helena. Mrs. M. A. Vinding presided over her Circle, making plans for the pledge dinner last Sunday at which they served. The Vinding Circle met with Mrs. Elmer Simms, 735 N. Zeyn with 12 present. Mrs. C. C. Wise gave devotions and Mrs. Sam Lindsay the study book. May meeting will be a potluck at 12:30 in Anaheim city park. The Tessner Circle met with Mrs. Melvin Hilgenfeld, 804 W. Broadway, with Mrs. Fred Edwards presiding. PFC James L. Wolford, 21, son of Mrs. C. N. Stiner, Anaheim, is among 20,000 soldiers stated to participate in Exercise Apple Jack during May at the Yakima Firing Center near Fort Lewis, Wash. Apple Jack will test the efficiency of infantry and support units in mountainous and desert terrain. The simulated use of atomic weapons will be one of the conditions of the exercise. Pvt. Wolford, whose father, J. L.-Wolford, Sr., lives in Rupert, Idaho, entered the Army in January 1953 and received basic training at Fort Lewis, Wolford is a 1953 graduate of Eureka High school. It was announced at a business meeting of the local club. Mrs. Auest, president of the Anaheim Soroptimists, said the conference is the outstanding event of the year for the Soroptimists of the Southwestern states.
