Nancy Lou Ater—Loren Schelhase Sister Marriage Vows in White Temple Rite The Rev. Frank E. Butterworth of White Temple Church united in marraige on Nov. 28 Miss Nancy Lou Ater, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Leroy Ater of Anaheim, and Loren Floyd Schelhase, son of Floyd Schelhase of Waterloo, Iowa, and Mrs. Charles Owen of Shabbona, Illinois. The ceremony took place in a local wedding chapel amid lovely fall decorations of bronze and yellow mums and oak leaves. As the bride was given in marriage by her father, she was gowned in brocade and tulle of champagne tones. A tiara of seed pearls and sequins caught a matching veil, and she carried a bouquet of miniature white chrysanthemums. Miss Ater was attended by her sister, Annette, gowned in waltz length amber taffeta. Edward Jordahl of Sherman Oaks was best man, and ushers were Leroy Ater, Jr., and Don Vinding. Miss Delores Giardino was soloist and her selections were Grieg's "I Love Thee," and "The Lord's Prayer." Miss Carole Dawson was in charge of the guest book at the reception which followed. Serving were Miss Kathleen Bielefeld and Miss Diane Harper. The new Mrs. Schelhase is a graduate of AUHS and Fullerton Junior college. She received her degree from the Redlands University. Her husband attended schools in Shabbona, III., and was a member of the Marine Corps in World War II. They will live in Anaheim. Local 4-H Member Win Annual Award Anaheim 4-H club members among the award winners last week when outstanding members were honored at the annual awards presentation at Mont school. Special honor from the Huskers went to Charles Holt and Lynn Ann Pletz. Rita Kiley of the Egg Beaters was chosen as was Kenny Mossman of Magnolia Agriculture club. Pletz of the Korn Huskers given the outstanding 4-H tary award. Her club receives gold charter seal for the work and was recognized as achieving 100 per cent completion. Leaders are Mr. Mrs. Carl Korn and Mrs. Pletz. Individual awards went Floyd Holland of the Korn Huskers as an achievement county leader; to Katella Farmers leader; Y. F. Hammatt for alumni recognition; Charles Holland for City winner in dairy achievement; Clada Pletz of the Korn Huskers for county winner in the foods demonstration and aga Home Improvement winner. A dress review with the title "Magic in a Thimble" follows the awards program. Mrs. H. Kirk of Anaheim was in charm program arrangements. Miss Rosalie Flynn, daughter of the Bernard Flynns of Anaheim, represented Marywood in the poetry division and Miss Patricia Nolan, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Nolan of Orange, placed first in the individual acting division. Medical Speakers At Horace Mann Mrs. Rodney Parsons was appointed parliamentarian of the November Horace Mann meeting replacing Mrs. Charles McHenry who resigned. Informative health talks were given by Dr. Martin J. Miller, D.D.S., Dr. Warren M. Hollingsworth, O.D., and Dr. Robert A. Curtis, M.D. Program Chairman Barton Beach, introduced the speakers, The Rev. John K. Saville gave the invocation and Mrs. Oliver O'Brien presided. A classroom demonstration in health was presented by Miss Curl's second grade, the class awarded the recent membership drive prize. Mrs. J. L. Drennan awarded the group a money tree.
