Lending a new touch to the distinctive Cadillac rear end, our designers have added small chrome louvers with studied placement to the body panel just below the rear deck lid. As the signal light flashed on the toll board in front of Anaheim operator Frances Fitzgerald, she made repeated requests for a number but there was no response...only heavy, labored breathing could be heard. Miss Fitzgerald called for supervisor, Catherine Wilson, for assistance and the two operators started to trace the call. In the meantime, the Anaheim police were asked to stand by. Tracing the origin of the call proved difficult. It was some time before the wire chief and his assistants found the open circuit and identified the trunk. Looking up the subscriber's address in the Line Record file, the operators then notified the police who raced to the stricken subscriber's address and found the caller in a semi-conscious condition. An ambulance whisked the man to the hospital. Miss Fitzgerald and Miss Wilson wrote "call completed" on the assist ticket and resumed their normal duties.
