Lutherans Plan Reformation Rite The annual Reformation Day celebration, sponsored by the ten Lutheran churches, Missourl Synod of Orange County, will again be held at the Anaheim Union High School Auditorium, Sunday, Oct. 11, at 3:00 p.m., was reported by the Rev. Edwin H. Pflug, pastor of Zion Lutheran church of this city. The speaker for the occasion will be the Rev. Rudolph Ressmeyer, D. D., of Baltimore, Md. He is a past president of the Southeastern District, the Lutheran church, Missouri Synod. Dr. Ressmeyer has been speaker at various Reformation Day Services in the past, including St. Louis, Detroit, Cincinnati, and San Francisco. Beside his many speaking engagements, Dr. Ressmeyer is also noted for his writings. Included among these are, "Headline News," two devotional booklets, and a short exposition of the Apostles Creed. Special music for the celebration will be furnished by a 150 voice adult choir under the direction of Edmund Martens, teacher CHURCH OF CHRIST ELECT NEW LEADERS Jerry Fell is the new president of the high school class of the Church of Christ. In recent elections, Nancy Fell was named vice-president; Georganne Watts, secretary and treasurer; Barbara Robertson and Bob Bircher, hospitality chairmen; Janet Jackson, missionary chairman; and Earl Robertson, press secretary. Ballenger, District Superintendent, led a prayer and sharing service for the W.S.C.S. of White Temple Methodist church in Wesley Hall on Tuesday, Oct. 26. Braun of 7731 Dowling Rd., celebrated their golden wedding anniversary last week. Over 150 friends from all parts of the southland attended the open house and enjoyed a musical program. Behnken, both of Orange. The various churches sponsoring this annual event are as follows: Zion, Anaheim; Messiah, Buena Park; Christ, Costa Mesa; St. Paul's Garden Grove; St. Paul's, Laguna Beach; St. Paul's, Ollive; Immanuel and St. John's, Orange; Trinity and Our Savior, Santa Ana. The public is invited to join in the celebration of the Anniversary of the Reformation. Regular services, 8:00 and 11:00 a.m., will be held at Zion Lutheran church on Oct. 31. Church Group Hears of Work In Greece "UNICEF in Greece" was the topic of a moving address given White Temple Methodist church WSCS members last Thursday by Dr. Charles Schermerhorn, a former director of the program in Greece, and now director of the Place Community Center and Clinic in Los Angeles. The address followed luncheon served by the Ashworth Circle, and a business meeting conducted by Mrs J. S. Kerr. Mrs. Paul David gave a devotional entitled "Suffer the Little Children." A musical interlude was given by Mrs. Ben Klauman at the violin and Mrs. Swenson at the piano. Rev. Gordon Birkey Addresses Group Rev. HARVEST MOON BALL AT COUNTRY CLUB Mrs. William J. Calvy of Anaheim is sharing chairman duties with Mrs. Arthur C. Ferree of Fullerton for the Harvest Moon Ball to be held at the Irvine Coast Country Club, Nov. 12. The annual semi-formal dinner dance sponsored by the Woman's Auxiliary of the Orange County Medical Association is for members and guests. Proceeds will aid the group's Educational Fund for nurses. Mrs. Eva Boyd, past grand treasurer of Eastern Star, received escort honors at the Grand Chapter meeting in Oakland this past week-end in recognition for her 45 consecutive years of attendance at Grand Chapter.
