Lutheran Pupils To Stage Final Outdoor Service
One hundred or more of Zion Lutheran school pupils will be on the stage of the amphitheater in beautiful Anaheim City park as the third and final outdoor service of the 1954 series begins next Sunday evening, Sept. 26 at six o'clock. The Rev. E. H. Pflug, pastor of Zion Lutheran church of Anaheim, who, together with the Orange County Lutheran churches, Missouri Synod, sponsors these outdoor services, will be the speaker on the topic: "Forward With Christ In The Nation."
The Rev. John Geisler, associate pastor of St. John's Lutheran church, Orange, will serve as liturgist. The service will be preceded by 15 minutes of transcribed music with Richard Heitschusen, Jr., as the operator of the amplifier.
The singers, composed of pupils from the 2nd to 8th grades of Zion Lutheran school, will render the hymn for the nation "God Bless Our Native Land," under the direction of Paul Lohr, accompanied by Mrs. Maxine Heitschusen at the piano.
Immediately following the service a 30-minute movie entitled: "The Beginning of the Rainbow" will be presented.
Zion Lutheran church, Emily and Chartres in Anaheim, conducts regular Sunday services at 8 and 11 a.m., and Sunday School and Bible Classes at 10 a.m.

Noted Organist Plans Recital in Santa Ana
Porter Heaps, noted organist, will appear in a recital on the Hammond concert model organ at Santa Ana High school auditorium on Monday evening, Oct. 4. The recital starts at 8:15 in the school's spacious auditorium under sponsorship of Santa Ana college.
Sharing interest in the recital is the disclosure that Heaps will conduct a full day "master class" on the organ the following day, Oct. 5, for church organizers and music teachers of the county Three two-hour sessions will be conducted, at 10 a.m., 2 p.m., and 7 p.m.
Heaps, rated as one of the top attractions of the concert stage, has been before the public since he was 18, as church organist, concert organist and choir director.
Methodist Women Hear WSCS Leader
Mrs. Paul David, 511 N. Curtentine, was hostess to the Circle of White Temple Missionchurch last Tuesday evening. Co-hostess for the first falling was Mrs. Jean Freeman, siding for the business session Mrs. Richard Heilman.
The far flung activities of Women's Society of Christian vice was ably discussed by speaker Mrs. J. S. Kerr, W. president.
"Across our nation, two members of the organization engaged in this service," said Kerr, "and are devoted to working God, helping each other serving the needy everywhere."
Many of the 720 separate cities supported by the nai group were described by Kerr.
Twenty members and guests attending devoted their ning to hand work on articles sold at the general Novel meeting.

Shirley McGinnis Shower Honoree
Bride-eect Miss Shirley McGinnis, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles McGinnis of Dowling Rd., was honored with a miscellaneous shower last Friday night, Sept. 17, given by her sister, Mrs. John Denny, and friend, Mrs. Walter A. Kempin at the latter's home at 7652 S. Red Gum street.
The living room was gaily decorated with orchid and yellow asters as 30 friends and former neighbors gathered for an evening of games. Prizes went to Marilyn Broderick, Betty Stinson, Jean Franz and Lavelle Wright.
Miss McGinnis will become the bride of James Clark of Baton Rouge on Oct. 1, in services to be held at Zion Lutheran church.

A share-the-dish supper was enjoyed by members of the Friendly Circle and their families in Anaheim City Park recently. Lutheran members attended outdoor religious services in the park afterwards.

7TH DIV., KOREA—Pvt. H. Armenta, whose wife, Flora, at 305 Paulina street, Anaheim Calif., recently has been paitting in training and field exercises with his unit, the Field Artillery Battalion in K.
A gunner in Battery A of battallion: Armenta is training other members of his unit to train its combat readiness.
Before entering the Army March 1953, he was employed Compton. Armenta is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Henry Arm Berry street, Anaheim.
Anaheim Soldier Assists Koreans
7TH DIV., KOREA—Army Miguel Muro, son of Mr. and Paul Muro, 221 E. La Palma Anaheim, Calif., recently build a new primary-grades school in Korea as part of the Infantry Division's Armed F Assistance to Korea program.
Muro, who arrived in the East during October 1953, is dio operator with the Heavy far Company of the division's Infantry Regiment.

The first fall meeting of Triple F club was characterized by each member relating her mother's activities, vacation visits from relatives and friends and trips to the beach.
Devotions were given by Elizabeth Hillary. Mrs. R. Prior presided at the briefness session. Salad refreshments were served.
The meeting was held in home of Mrs. Leo Oden, 20 West street. Co-hostess was Roy Kaska. The next club meeting will be at the home of Mrs. Iard Schwacofer with Mrs. Chr Bradd as co-hostess.
ROBINSONS VISITED BY SON FROM VENEZUELA
Mr. and Mrs. Ben Robi 11561 S. Placentia Ave., have joyed a visit from their son, gene Reed, who is vacationing from South America. He is anployee in the warehouse department of the Creole Oil Co. Carne Venezuela. He leaves by train from Los Angeles tonight, Sept for South America.
PANHELLENIC DANCE SLATED FOR SEPT. 25
The Northern Orange County Panhellenic association will send a dance at the Santa Country club, Saturday evening Sept. 25, proceeds going to a young women from this area finance their higher education, Burgess and his orchestra play for this informal affair ginning at 9 p.m.
HOSTS TO FRIENDS
Mr. and Mrs. Charles Hin and daughters, Charla and Clement 18831 Country Lane, were at their new home on Sunday over 40 friends from South California. A potluck lunch was enjoyed on the patio.

WRC Schedules Last Of Sept. Meetings
The A. B. Paul Womens Relief Corps social club meeting will be held at the home of Mrs. Ida Daws on Sept. 28. A card party for members and friends at the Odd Fellows Hall is slated for Sept. 30. The latter party is to begin with dessert at noon with cards to follow at 1 p.m. A sale of handmade articles will be conducted.
Paul Roddam Jr. In Far East with Patrol Squadron
FAR EAST—Serving here with Patrol Squadron 17 is Paul Roddam, Jr., aviation machinist's mate airman, USN, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul D. Roddam of 881 S. Lemon street, Anaheim, Calif.
Roddam, who entered the Navy in December, 1151, reported aboard from the USS Princeton in May, 1954.
Formerly known as Patrol Squadron 772, it was the first Naval Reserve squadron to participate in the Korean conflict when ordered here in January 1951.
The squadron returned to the Korean theater again in December, 1952. During the last six months the squadron was deployed it flew the equivalent of two trips to the moon and back. It had over 425 combat missions in enemy territory.

Jefferson School to Host Parents Soon
Parents and friends of Tuesdays Jefferson school are invited attend the traditional "get acquainted" brunch at the school Tuesday morning, Sept. 28, at a m. Mrs. Vernon Hawes, mother representative, is making arrangements.
Mrs. Herbert Bowen, 600 Clementine st., has returned to a trip to Waco, Texas, where accompanied her daughter, Dawn, who enrolled in the med college of Baylor university Dallas is preparing for medical missionary work.
