Kitchen Hurts
A finger knicked by a paring knife, or burned by incautious handling of a saucepan, can be mighty painful, but once the pain has subsided, there is sometimes the temptation to neglect such minor hurts if first aid means interrupting preparation of a meal for a trip to the bathroom medicine cabinet.
The temptation can be avoided if the few first-aid materials required to safeguard small hurts against infection are kept on a kitchen shelf. Burn ointment, antiseptie and a package of Band-Aid Plastic Strip bandages should meet most situations.
The flesh color of the ready-to-use plastic strips blends no well with skin tones that they are scarcely noticeable. They are water-proof, so they won't loosen or come off, even in hot, sudsy dishwater.
