Kersten was elected president of the Anaheim Assistance League at the installation ceremonies last Thursday at her home at 411 N. West street. The retiring board headed by Mrs. C. A. Neighbors were hostesses for the noon day luncheon which honored sustaining members as well as the new board. In a brief business session, details of dispensing some $3,000 in aid to local families during the past year were given. The League, among other plans for the new year, voted to furnish a room in the new St. Jude hospital. The following new officers were installed: Mrs. P. E. Fluor, vice-president in charge of membership; Mrs. V. W. Borden, second vice-president and wavs and means chairman; Mrs. Dick Heffern, third vice-president and projects chairman; Mrs. William La Vecke, treasurer; Mrs. Niels Boege, recording secretary; Mrs. Beatty Neighbors, corresponding secretary; Mrs. A. C. Elliott, parliamentarian; Mrs. Duncan Powers, publicity; Mrs. Wm. Neighbors, Junior Past President, and Mrs Harry Nutt, representative to National Council. Kent of Anaheim have announced the engagement of their daughter, Kathleen Marie, to Leland Summers, son of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Summers of Los Angeles.
