NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that sealed proposals for the purchase of $190,000 par value general obligation bonds of Stanton County Water District, of Orange County, California will be received by the Board of Directors at the Savanna School, 7791 East Cerritos Avenue, Stanton, California, up to the hour of 7:30 o'clock P.M., California Daylight Saving Time, on July 8, 1954. If a bidder desires to mail his bid it may be mailed to the Secretary of said District at her office at P.O. Box III1, Stanton, California.
Said bonds are designated "SEW-AGE DISPOSAL BONDS," one hundred twenty in number, bond 1 to 150, inclusive of the determination of $1,000 each, to be dated July 1, 1954, to bear interest at a rate or rates not to exceed six per cent. per annum, payable annually for the first year and semiannually thereafter, and are to be payable in consecutive numerical order, $2,000 on July 1 in each of the years 1956 to 1959 both including, and $10,000 on July 1 in each of the years 1960 to 1976 both inclusive. Said bonds age the interest thereafter upon payment of United States of America at the office-of-the County Treasurer of Orange County in Santa Ana, California.

Each bid shall state that the bidder offers no interest in data of delivery, the premium if any, and the interest rate or rates, not to exceed six per cent. (6%) per annum, payable annually for the first year and semiannually thereafter, at which the bidder offers to buy said bonds. Each rate bid must be a multiple of 8 or 12. Not more than three interest payments shall bear more than one interest rate. No bid for a part of said bonds will be considered. The bonds shall be sold for each only and for not less than par and accrued interest to date of delivery.
A certified or cashier's check on a responsible bank or trust company in the amount of $750,000, payable to the order of Stanton County Water District, must accompany each proposal as a guarantee that the bidder, if successful, will accept and pay for said bonds in accordance with the terms of his bid. The proceeds of the check accompanying any accepted proposal shall be applied on the purchase price or, if such proposal is accepted but not performed, unless such failure of performance shall be caused by any act or omission of said District, shall then be retained by the District. The check accompanying each unaccepted proposal will be returned promptly.
The unaqualified opinion of O'Melveny & Myers, attorneys, approving the validity of said bonds will be furnished the successful bidder at or prior to the date of said bonds, at the expense of the District. At the time of payment for and delivery of said bonds the District will furnish the successful bidder a certificate that there is no litigation pending affecting the validity of the bonds.
At any time before the bonds are tendered for delivery the successful bidder may disaffirm and withdraw the proposal if the interest received by private holders from bonds of the same time and character shall be declared to be taxable income under present federal income tax laws either by a ruling of the Bureau of Internal Revenue by a decision of any federal court or shall be declared taxable income tax law enacted subsequent to the date of this notice.

Take heart, good friend—you can buy a hit-of-the-year Buick if you can afford any new car.
And we'll gladly show our price tag to prove it.
For the price on this tag is the delivered price—the local price—of the new Buick Special 2-door, 6-passenger Sedan—and it's just a few dollars away from those of the so-called "low-price three"—lower, in fact, than even some models of those very same cars.
But look what this Buick price gets you!
It gets you the very look of tomorrow in styling modernity, even to the spectacular new panoramic windshield that seems to outdate everything before it.
It gets you Buick V8 power—highest in SPECIAL history—plus the eco-new Power-Head Pistons.
It gets you Buick room, Buick size and structure and including of course, the famed Dollar Ride and a new pre-handling ease.
It gets you, too, solid and deep-do For any way you look at it, you'll ahead with the car that's years-a-in looks and line and the lift of—and the car that's outselling e-car in America except two of the three."
Drop in today or the first thing—just to try and to drive and to a new Buick. We'll let the car points.
