Local Ikettes Club Merit Honor Award
The Anaheim Ikettes received national honor last Thursday when the club was awarded the golden gong and gavel by Clinton Flynn, state president of the Isaac Walton League. The local club merited the award by retaining 90 per cent of membership and in addition, launching a membership drive increasing the club roster from 39 to 62 members. The Anaheim club also assisted with the formation of a new chapter in Garden Grove.
Initiation of 24 members was conducted during the meeting by Marion Wick, past president, assisted by Elaine and Vivian Henry. A pot luck supper was served to the winning recruitment team headed by Irene Martin by the losing team headed by club president Harriet Held. The group met at the La Palma Investment in Youth Center.

The property tax increase this year is three times as big as the population increase—property taxes up 10 per cent, population up 3.5 per cent," the association said.
"Only citizen demand for tightening up of local government will bring local taxes down," the taxpayers' association declared.
