Joye - Mangham Wedding Rites
Betty Alene Joye of 1227 Lincoln Ave., and William Edward Mangham of Santa Ana, were joined in matrimony in simple ceremonies held in the bridegroom's home on Saturday evening, Jan. 30. The Rev. Harry Owings, retired Baptist minister, officiated.
Daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Clovd Taylor, the bride was smartly dressed for the occasion in a navy blue suit with white accessories. Her wedding flowers were a corsage of white carnations. Attending the bride and bridegroom were Mr. and Mrs. Ed Voegtly of Fullerton.

Presby. Women Luncheon Held
Mrs. Marion Pickel took "praying hands" as her theme as she led the first meeting of the year recently as president of the Presbyterian Women's Fellowship.
Assuming office with Mrs. Pickel at the luncheon meeting at the church were Blanche Morlev, first vice-president; Eden Drake, second vice-president; Bernadine Rose, secretary; and Anita Hollowell, treasurer.
Members were invited to bring old and interesting Bibles to the meeting. Prize for the oldest Bible went to Ruth Lumsden who had a copy printed in 1806. Mrs. W. P. McCleister was awarded a prize for the smallest Bible.
Jennie Stull sang, "My Mother's Bible." An address by the Rev. Roland Anderson was titled, "Evangelism in the Bible." Devotions were given by Holly Markel and Mrs. E. B.; Mangham, arranged an informal reception for mediate members of both families following the ceremonies.

The couple are now married their home at 13012 Elder st. in Santa Ana. They attended schools and met at the Ger Motors plant in South Gate where the bridegroom is continuing employment.

Home Department Prepares Tour;
Mrs. Jesse Anderson presided at the meeting of the Anaheim Home Department held at the home of Mrs. A. E. Wieczorek, 11322 Romneva Dr.
On March 29 the Anaheim group will join with the Garden Grove Home Department in serving a "frontier luncheon" to the general public. Tickets will be priced at $1.00, and the luncheon will be served at the Garden Grove Methodist church.
The morning session was devoted to a demonstration by Nora Fricke and Ina Gathas entitled "What's New in Home Furnishing Fabrics" and a discussion of how to make slip covers by Martha Bircher.
After the noon luncheon which featured dish of the month, mock chicken casserole, Russell Ireland, interior decorator of the Smith-Reafsynder Furniture company, gave an informative talk on home furnishings.
Mr. and Mrs. Alex Reynosa of 19152 W. Center St., welcomed a 6 lb. 2 oz. daughter in Fullerton Cottage hospital on Feb. 12.
Bank Launches Annual Program For Students
Search began this week in high schools throughout Southern California to find 1,500 senior students who will receive unusual recognition under the 1954 Achievement Awards program of Bank of America. The top 60 will receive cash awards totalling $17,600.
In each participating school, committee of teachers and principals will name students who are outstanding in classroom studies, outside activities, and leadership. These will receive certificates of achievement. At zone competitions the students will be interviewed in groups by judging panels of civic leaders, and will discuss important topics of the day. The winner the zones will all receive awards ranging from $1,000 to $100, the amount of each determined when the student er appear before a final board civic leaders for new group.
