Rachel Ann Watkins Wedded to Returned Korea Vet on Friday With the bridegroom just home from Korea, Miss Rachel Ann Watkins was united in marriage with James Dee Wright in a ceremony by candlelight Sept. 11. The Rev. Robert Burns McAulay of the Orange Presbyterian church performed the ceremony in the garden chapel at Capilla de San Antonio. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. T. D. Copeland of 912 N. Dickel st. and was given in marriage by her father. Her bridegroom is the son of the late Marvin C. Wright and Mrs. Wright of Montgomery, Ala. Mrs. Wright was unable to be here for the wedding. For the simple yet impressive ceremony, Miss Watkins wore an off-the-shoulder ballerina length gown of white net over pink satin. In place of the usual wedding veil, she wore a filmy net stole and a small white hat. Her wedding bouquet was of white gardenias and pink carnations. A small group of friends and family gathered at the chapel to witness the nuptial rites. The bridal pair were attended by maid of honor Miss Virginia Watson of Alhambra and best man, Winston Copeland, brother of the bride. Miss Watson was gowned in pale blue satin and carried an unusual bouquet of blue and white carnations. Mrs. A. F. Faust was at the organ and played "Because" and "Always" as well as the wedding marches. Following the ceremony, an intimate reception was held in the adjoining garden where the newly married couple cut the first piece from a tiered wedding cake. The new Mr. and Mrs. Wright have flown back east for a month's honeymoon trip. They plan to visit friends and relatives in Alabama where they both went to school and to go on to Florida where the bridegroom is stationed as a sergeant in the Marine Corps. The bride will continue to reside in Anaheim and will continue her work with the Anaheim branch of the Pacific Telephone Co. in the hope that her husband can soon effect a transfer to this area.
