3 Anaheim Gazette THURSDAY, AUGUST 13, 1953 ANAHEIM, CALIFORNIA Eisele-Christensen Wedding Rites Held Aug. 1 in Santa Ana Church The First Christian church of Santa Ana was the scene of a pretty wedding on August first when Miss Mary Jo Eisele of Brea exchanged vows with Sam Christenson of Anaheim. The Rev. Gerald Bash performed the ceremony in the sanctuary which was decorated with huge spray of white gladioli. The bride, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Eisele of Brea, was given in marriage by her father. She wore a ballerina length wedding gown of organdy lace with tight fitting bodice and high neckline. The gown was fashioned with tiny cap sleeves and a bouffant skirt. The bride's blond hair was worn Greecian style and caught up with a double strand of pearls which held in place a short white veil. She wore matching pearls at her throat. Thebridal bouquet was of white orchids and illies of the valley arranged on a white Bible. The bride's only attendant was Mrs. Terry Oliver as Matron of Honor. She was beautifully gowned in blue taffeta with matching blue cap. Anaheim Bride-groom The bride-groom is the son of the late Sam Christenson and Mrs. Christenson of 13921 Country Lane in Anaheim. He was attended by Claude Touchstone as best man and his nephews Larry and Tom. wedding cake. The cake was an unusually beautiful confection of pure white decorated with pastel roses and spun sugar wedding bells. The bride's mother wore a full skirted organdy summer ensemble in pastels with a white hat, and the mother of the bridegroom chose a navy sheer afternoon dress with pink accessories. Both mothers wore corsages of pink rosebuds. For a wedding trip to Santa Barbara and Sequoia, the bride exchanged her bridal gown for a modish navy blue suit trimmed in white. She wore white accessories and an orchid from her bridal bouquet. The new Mrs. Christenson is a graduate of Brea High school and attended Fullerton Junior college where she was a member of Phi Alpha Omega sorority. Her husband graduated from Hollywood High school and is a sophomore at Fullerton Junior college. He is president of the Hornet Knights. His education was interrupted by four years of service in the U.S. Navy, a portion of which was spent in Korea. He plans to complete his education at San Jose State College. The couple are now at home at 1560 W. Commonwealth in Fullerton. Rinehart-Heath Taken in Rites Same In the garden of Capilla de la Antonio, Miss Wanda Emily Rinehart exchanged marriage vow with Logan James Heath at eight o'clock on Saturday evening. The Rev. Frank E. Butterworth of White Temple Methodist church officiated before an altar bank with chrysanthemums, yellow gladioli, and larkspur. While streamered candles provided light for the impressive outdoor ceremony. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Charles H. Rinehart 508 So. Citron st. The groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Logan Heath of Phoenix, Arizona. Bridal Gown Miss Rinehart was given marriage by her father. She wore a waftz length gown fashioned handmade lace over taffeta. Its tails were a high, scalloped neckline, long, close fitting sleeve and a very full skirt. Her tuille veil of finger-length was held in place by a lace headpiece. She carried a lace bouquet of stephanotis center with an orchid of pure white. The bride was attended by maid of honor Miss Marilyn Smith who wore a ballerina length gown carried a basket of yellow gladiolus of aqua net. Her full skirt was designed with embroidered paneling. A matching jacket with an embroidered collar completed her costume. Wearing an identical gown with bridesmaid Robyn Wilsey, The bride's only attendant was Mrs. Terry Oliver as Matron of Honor. William Gatjens Dies in Home William Gatjena, 83, a long-time resident of Anaheim, died Aug. 4 at his home, 122719 Lincoln ave. Funeral services were held Thursday at the chapel of Backs, Campbell and Kaulbars mortuary with the Rev. A. J. Casebeer officiating. Interment was made in Holy Sepulchre cemetery. The shower was given at the Smith home at 545 S. Citroen. The home was tastefully decorated with pink and white summer blossoms, and the brick theme extended to the refreshment table. Guests enjoyed individual white frosted cakes decorated with miniature umbrellas. These were served with brick cream, assorted nuts in fan cups, and coffee. No special games were played during the evening because the guests were predominantly schooled on flowers and lilies of the valley arranged on a white Bible. For a wedding trip to Ensenada, Mexico, the bride wore a traveling suit of powder blue linen with a small white hat and accessories of black patent leather. Pinned to her lapel was the single white orchid of her wedding bouquet. Upon their return, the couple will make their home in Corona Women's Relief Corps Installs New Officials During installation ceremonies at a meeting of the A. B. Paul Women's Relief Corps held recently in Odd Fellows Hall, Mrs. Lucy Alvord and Mrs. Betty Talset were installed color bearers. Mrs. Bessie Flitzpatrick conducted the rites, assisted by Mrs. Mary Mitchell. Mrs. Alice Robert, chairman of the hospital committee, describéd her visit to the Corona Naval hospital and told of the need for donations of musical instruments. She said that English ivy plants were also needed for landscaping the hospital grounds. Monthly relief activity reports revealed that members had donated a total of five weeks' time in nursing duty under the Red Cross program, had sent 72 cards, made 69 calls, sent 25 bouquets, spent $5 on flowers and $2 for child welfare. Two guests were introduced, Mrs. Ota Thompson of Fullerton and Mrs. Sarah Smith of Corvallis, Ore., who spoke briefly of the work done by the WRC in her city. A luncheon preceded the meeting. At that time, Mrs. Talset and Mrs. Olga Ballinger were given birthday honors, presented with a cake, and showered with cards. The highest peak in England is Ben Nevis in Scotland—4,406 feet. NDGW Lay Plans For Installation of New Officers A regular meeting of the N.D.G.W Daughters of the Golden West held Thursday evening at IOOF hall in Fullerton with Grace Moore presiding. Cahill, for the 11 years steward at Anaheim club, died last Friday at the age of 78. He was a native of Comicut.
