WHITE SOCIETY EDITOR Phone: 7515 Lois Rebekah Lodge Celebrates 51st Anniversary Last Friday The 51st Anniversary of the Lois Rebekah lodge was celebrated on Friday evening when the regular meeting was held at 8 p.m. at the IOOF Hall on West Center street, Pat Senter, Noble Grand, presided. Surie Walker, newly appointed district deputy president of Discinaheim Woman Returns from Vacation Tour Mr. Mary Reed of 113 W. Midway Mallor returned on Monday from a vacation trip which took her through several western states. Her party included three close friends from Whittier, the Misses Mottie Morris, Helen Rodda and Glen Hulling. With destination Denver, Mrs. Reed's former home, they left on June 19 going by way of Oakcreek canyon to Flagstaff, Ariz. District 50, visited the lodge on official business. Mrs. Walker, a member of the Acacia Lodge in Huntington Beach, was accompanied by Marshal Louise Jenkins. Other dignitaries at the meeting were: Mrs. E. L. Beatty, past president of the association of Ladies Auxiliaries, Patriarch Militant, North Dakota; Henry A. Mang, past Grand Patriarch of the Grand Encampment of California. In honor of the 51st anniversary, Program Chairman Barbara Myers presented a beautiful and impressive candle light service. Announcement was made that the past Noble Grands' club meeting will be held this evening at the home of Mrs. Jennie Nelson, 228 E. Adelaire street, beginning at 8 p.m. Plans were made for the annual penny supper. The date will be announced later. A social hour came after the lodge meeting. The hall was decorated patriotically in red, white and blue. Hostess Mrs. Mae Heying and her committee estimate that about 70 attended the meet. Joan Strachan Miss Joan Bessie Strachan came the bride of Larry Lee on Friday, evening. Ding rites performed by the Frank E. Butterworth family Temple Methodist church. The sanctuary was so luminated by candelight and decorated with bouquets of white gladioli accented pink jarkspur. Given in marriage by her gown of white nylon over the skirt was of many-tier fish. Midway Mallor returned on Monday from a vacation trip which took her through several western states. With destination Denver, Mrs. Reed's former home, they left on June 19 going by way of Oakcreek canyon to Flagstaff, Ariz., and Albuquerque, N. M. A stop was made at Los Alamos where they could tour the portion of the Atomic Energy Research Project that is open to the public. The party then followed the Million-Dollar highway to Montrose and then to Denver for a short visit. The return trip was leisurely made through Colorado with visits to Zion and Bryce Canyons, Glenwood Springs and Aspen, a reactivated historic mining town where a musical festival was in progress. Mrs. Reed reports an ideal trip, with the only really hot weather encountered last Friday on the return from Salt Lake City. She is now back at her job of secretary at White Temple Methodist church. Criss Alumni View Pics of Europe Something a bit different in the way of entertainment was offered members of the Criss Business College Alumni association at the regular meeting held last evening in the college patio, 512 E. Center street. Refreshment Chairman, Vidha Tchishan, General Electric Co., arranged a box lunch supper which was enjoyed at 5:30 p.m. After the picnic-style supper, very special guest Norma Troeller of Fullerton, an alumna of Criss Business college, showed pictures she took of Europe while on special service in Berlin. Of her collection, which numbers in the hundreds, she chose the highlights of trips in Germany, Italy and England. Kisamore-Hunger Wedding Rites Held June 26 Among the last of this season's lovely June brides of Anaheim was Elizabeth Susan Kisamore who became the bride of Corporal William F. Hunger of Karnes City, Texas, in simple informal rites on June 26. The marriage was performed by the Rev. Jack W. Bates, Church of Christ, Santa Ana. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. C. A. Thorp of Pleasanton, Texas. Mr. and Mrs. A. H. Hunger of Karnes City are the parents of the groom, who is a member of the U.S. Marine Corps now stationed in Santa Ana. Neither parents were able to attend the ceremony. The bride wore a rose-colored tailored suit with white accessories and a matching corsage of three rosy-hued orchids. She repeated her vows before a flower-banked altar, attended by Diana J. Dahleen as matron of honor. Mrs. Dahleen wore a cream color and black afternoon dress, accented by a corsage of yellow carnations. Attending the groom as best man was John R. Ham, Jr. The couple left immediately after the ceremony for a threeday honeymoon at Big Bear Lake and are at Home now at 204 S. Ohio street in Anaheim. Frank E. Butterworth in White Temple Methodist church. The sanctuary was softly illuminated by candlelight and was decorated with bouquets of golden and white gladioli accented by pink jarkspur. Given in marriage by her lathery, the bride wore a bouffant down of white nylon over tuffeta. The skirt was of many-tiered ruffles. In gowns of soft yellow, Bonnie Strachan, another sister of the bride, and Darlene Wilkins attended the bride as junior bridesmaids. Claudette Black made a marrying little flower girl in her suit with rose hat and black accessories. The couple will make their home in Coronado where the groom is stationed with the Naval Air Force.
