Activities began at 7:30 when members assembled in the patio between breezeway and administration building, to dedicate the class of 1953 gift to the school, a new circular flagstone seat to be completed in the near future with addition of stone benches and trees. Following the gift dedication, seniors attended another cermony, laying of the bronze plaque for the year 1953 on the walkway facing the administration building. Under the plaque was placed a scroll containing names of all graduates, as is the annual custom. Senior members presented their assembly program at 8:15 a.m. before the entire student body, the theme of which was a humorous dramatization of "cat capers," including fantastic costumes, weird music, and unusual sound effects. After the assembly, seniors atttended a class breakfast at the Masonic temple, where vice president Jim Gardiner served as master of ceremonies. Specially printed programs contained the breakfast menu: orange juice, scrambled eggs and ham, fried apples, sweet rolls, and coffee or milk; as well as announcement of entertainment, including solo numbers by Freda Whitley accompanied by Frank Ruff.
