Crescendo Club Hosts Gala Mexican Fiesta The social hall of White Temple Methodist church was the scene of a gala Mexican fiesta recently by the Crescendo club with Avon and Florence Carlson, Dutz and Vera Hilbers and Don and Ardyse Ann Brown as hosts. Colorful scrapes, bright colored flowers, potted plants, large baskets, pottery bowls and gay hand-painted trays transformed the hall into a delightful patio effect. The typical Mexican dinner, enchiladas, tamales, tacos and salad in addition to cake and ice cream was prepared by the hosts and served at small tables decorated with checked cloths each centered with the traditional wax-dripped bottle and candle. An overall charming atmosphere was made by indirect lighting and soft south-of-the-border music in the background. Following dinner and preceding the dessert course, Cecil Bernard, superintendent of juvenile hall in Santa Ana and advisory-teacher of the club, was presented with a beautifully decorated birthday cake and a monetary gift. After expressing his appreciation the cake was served with ice cream. Present in addition to Cecil Bernard, guest of honor, were the Messrs. and Mmes.
