"God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved" is the Golden Text from John (3:17). In Matthew's Gospel (28:18-20) Jesus counsels his followers: "All power is given unto me in heaven and in earth. Go ye therefoe, and teach all nationa, baptizing them in the name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Ghost: Teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you: and, lo, I am with you always, even unto the end of the world." Mary Baker Eddy writes in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures": "Christ, Truth, was demonstrated through Jesus to prove the power of Spirit over flesh.—to show that Truth is made manifest by its effects upon the human mind and body, healing sickness and destroying sin." "Like our Master, we must depart from material sense into the spiritual senses of being," (pp 316, 41). Swing to sway, bee-bop to jazz could be heard from inside the walls of the AU studyhall last Friday night when the AU band under the direction of Bill Cook serenaded many students who attended the winter sports dance, sponsored by the Varsiy "A" club of AUHS. Among the "Husband Hunters" this week, the Future Homemakers of America held their annual initiation potluck last Thursday at 6 p.m. in the high school cafeteria. Several games were played and refreshments were served. Applause sounded to the rafters in the AUHS auditorium Thursday night, when the junior presented their play, "Down to Earth," under the direction of Miss Louise Hitt, drama coach. Every student enacted his part with enthusiasm and nearly professional competence. The play was another great hit to be recorded among the records with the many plays presented at AU by the junior and senior classes. Time to say so-ooo long until next week. I will again bring the gossip and club news direct from the Anaheim campus. HILGENFELD MORTUARY Faithful Courteous Service 120 E.
