Newport Pastor Speaks at St. Michael’s Tonite
The guest speaker this Wednesday night at 7 o’clock, for the mid-week Lenten service at St. Michael’s Episcopal church will be the Rev. Paul Wheeler, rector of St. James Episcopal church, Newport Beach. The subject will be “Spiritual Healing.” The choir will sing “Sanctus,” by Eyre.
Following this service, there will be a discussion period in the parish hall for those who would like to ask Mr. Wheeler questions. The speaker is chairman of the Diocesan Commission on Spiritual Healing, and has his own regular mid-week healing service. Mr. Wheeler has also been chairman of the Episcopal Diocesan Department of Christian Education, and director of Camp Stevens for young people for a number of years. He was assistant to the Rev. John Leffler of San Francisco, who directed the organization of the Triennial Convention of the Episcopal church, three years ago, in that city.
Wm. R. Thompson Dies in Orange County Hospital
William R. Thomson, 79, died yesterday afternoon at Orange county hospital following a short illness. He was a native of Canada and had resided in Anaheim for the past three years, at 506 E. North st.
He is survived by his wife Leota, of the family home, a daughter, Mrs. Katherine Gallienne of Santa Ana; a son, Clarence Double-bleed of Huntington Beach and four grandchildren.
He was a member of the Normal Park Masonic lodge, 797 of Chicago.

He was a member of the Normal Park Masonic lodge, 797 of Chicago, Ill.; a member of the Inglewood Commandant No. 59 of Chicago, and member of the Wesley Methodist church of Anaheim.
Funeral services will be held tomorrow at 10:30 in the chapel of Backs, Campbell and Kaulbars with the Rev. William McKinley Walker officiating. Interment will be made in the Anaheim cemetery.
Contrary to the legend of British fortune in war, Britain lost the last battles, as well as the campaigns in both the American revolution and the war of 1812.
