BUY OR SELL-- Get FAST RESULTS! IN THE DAYS OF LONG AGO From the Files of Anaheim Gazette By MRS. HENRY KUCHEL 75 Years Ago February 1876 Ed Schubert arrived from San Francisco last evening. Mr. Bohn is in pursuit of a gang of hoodlums who so far disregarded his official dignity as to tie tin cans to the tail of the dog that accompanies our valiant officers in his midnight official rambles. It is stated that Mr. McFadden of Newport Landing who has been on a visit to San Bernardino, offers to enter into a contract to deliver freight at that place for two years at a price of $10 per ton. Just as soon as the railroad is finished to San Diego we propose to visit that burg and maltreat and violently assault the editor of the News. He has commenced to head his local column "Kleinigkeiten." Saturday was the first anniversary of the establishment of the Bank of Anaheim. The uniform courtesy and careful management of its efficient cashier, has won the confidence of the community. AUHS Agriculture Teachers Attend CATA Convention The Southern Region of the California Agriculture Teachers association met at the new farm at large, and we have no doubt that their second year of its existence will be one of increased profit. 50 Years Ago February 1903 Charles Federman, popular merchant, is to the front with announcement of rare bargains to be found in his dry goods emporium. He has just returned from San Francisco where he studied the styles and brought with him a very complete stock of new goods. 25 Years Ago February 1928 The Orange county bankers association will hold its meeting at Fullerton tomorrow. Plans for a special program of unusual interest have been made by Howard Krause of the Los Angeles First National Bank, Fullerton Branch, who is president of the association. Cub Scouts 53 To Serve Penny Dinner Tonight The eighth grade of the Olive elementary school enjoyed an educational trip through the Anaheim division of the Northrop Aircraft Co. Tuesday morning. They were shown through the plant and saw the assembling of the rangefinders. Accompanied by their teacher, Principal Paul G. Many important items were on the agenda, including a report from the state president, Paul Grace from North Hollywood high school. Grace was the representative of the CATA to the National AVA and NATA conventions in Boston and the CTA conference in San Francisco. Reports were made to the group by Lealand Hanson, Anaheim agriculture teacher, as chairman of the Organization committee; Adult Department by Richard Barrett, agriculture instructor at Orange Coast college; and Avon Carlson, agriculture teacher at Anaheim high school on Professional Improvement. All of the reports were streamlined and suggested very new changes in the problems and the solutions of those problems. It was felt that rehashing the same problems should be done away with and a real constructive program of work be outlined by each of the committees. A farm electrification demonstration was conducted by Daniel L. Turner, public relations officer for the San Diego Gas and Electric company. The dinner speaker was Byron McMahon, chief of the Bureau of Agriculture Education, who gave an inspiring talk on the progress and good work of vocational education. "As long as the local teachers of agriculture are doing such fine jobs, there will be no need to worry about the falling apart of our program." Only when local programs do not meet the needs of the people at home do we have to worry. I am confident no agriculture teacher in California is doing a poor job. Daniel Walker of the First Methodist church, in Corvallis, Ore. Following the supper, children will adjourn for their own hour of fun and entertainment, while parents remain for a seminar discussion on the problems of Christian family life, led by the visiting cleric, who is himself the father of three children. Following the seminar, Rev. Walker will preach on "Help Us Remember" at the regular 8 p.m. special service in the sanctuary, one of nightly preaching sessions this week by the Oregon minister who is directing the entire church in a Spiritual Life Mission. Music will be provided by the Children's Choir, directed by Mrs. Bessie Gray. The public is cordially invited to this service. LEGAL NOTICES (Pub.
