Agent Reports Public Acceptance Of Eastmont Estates Tract Good
Brisk sales in the Eastmont Estates housing development were reported yesterday by Harold Dea-exclusive sales agent.
The new community, opened to the public Dec. 14, is situated on E. Vermont st., about a half mile east of Los Angeles st., in a picturesque, tree-covered section of Anaheim, a short distance from the city's business center.
Dike, Colgrove and Koll, widely known building contractors, are the developers of the tract, which features extra wide (69 - foot) frontages and rambling ranch-type designs by Hugh Gibbs. AIA. The effect is to give the community a pleasing suburban air which has created wide interest in the project, Deavel said.
Both two and three bedroom homes in a wide range of unusual designs are available, for early occupancy, it was explained.
Priced from $8395 to $9150 these homes are offered on liberal FHA terms with down payments as low as $893, plus impounds. Monthly terms from $4150 include principal and interest payment. Deavel stated. Cal-vet and Building and Loan financing also is available, it was pointed out.
The informal ranch homes comprising the community have an impressive array of noteworthy features which include copper plumbing with all Crane fixtures, plastered and painted walls and ceilings throughout.
Real Estate Bills Designed to Hike Realty Standards
SACRAMENTO (CNS) — Bills affecting the California real estate act will be handled in the assembly, this year by Glenn E. Coolidge (R) of Santa Cruz, he announced here today, and in the senate by Arthur H. Breed (R) of Alameda county.
The real estate bills, Coolidge said, are designed to raise the standards of the professions, and will include several subdivision amendments, one of which will increase charges for examination of new subdivisions in this state.
"It is hoped through this means," he stated, "to give the public a more thorough report on new subdivisions opening up to accommodate the increasing population of California."
Another amendment, Coolidge said, will affect brokers doing mail order real estate business and tighten regulations on this method of selling.
Coolidge, who is in real estate business himself in Santa Cruz county, is a new assemblyman, having succeeded Donald Grunsky, now a state senator.
