Social and Club Activities MR. AND MRS. DOYLE E. SNOW following their marriage in the chapel of the Flamingo Hotel in Las Vegas. Mrs. Snow is the former Janice Pullman, daughter of the Donald K. Pullmans. Mr. and Mrs. Homer Snow are parents of the bridegroom. Helen Strickland Honored with Pretty Shower One of the loveliest pre-nuptials showers given in honor of Helen Strickland, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Earl Strickland, 114 Elmworth, and flancee of Melvin Roy Sheppard, was one give to Mrs. Jack Dossett of Gard Grove. Clever little parasols, tied with dainty bows in rainbow colors and filled with nuts and candies were attached to cards bearing the names, "Melvin" and "Helen" were used as favors. A large parasol, placed on mirrored platter, with a minature bride and bridegroom, center the beautifully appointed table where coffee, punch and mold salad were served to the following guests: Mrs. Paul Sheppard mother of the bridegroom-to-be of Long Beach, and the Mme John Barrington, Marguerite Smith, Glenn Bigler, Valden Lal sister of the honoree; Daryl Davis, W. H. Enlow and Eileen Linder. Also the Mmes. Kenneth Feiner, Bryan Butler, Maria Moore and the Misses Mar Elina Burke Rosallie Butler, Martha Butler, addition to Mrs. Earl Strickland mother of the honoree. Honoring Helen, but unable to attend were Mmes. Leavitt For Thomas Lawler, Vern Mandelschuld, Herbert Keys, Eddie Monton, Shirley Miller and William Stowe; the Misses Margaret Maurin and Ruth Woolsey. Game prizes were won by Mr. Bryan Butler, Mrs. Elleen Lind John Barrigton and Rosalle Butler. Snow-Pullman Rite Held in las Vegas Lovely Miss Janice Pullman popular daughter of the Donna K. Le Roy Lyon Speaker For Secretaries The monthly meeting of the Orange county chapter of Executive Secretaries, Inc., at the Cirque restaurant, La Habra, on Dec. 2. was featured by a talk by LeRoy Lyon, Jr., assemblyman-elect. Lyon related his experiences of a trip to the Korean truce talks site while he was in the navy. At the conclusion of his talk, Lyon showed slides of Pusan and points of interest on the road to the truce talks site. During the meeting flowers were presented to new members: Martha Beale, Rinshed - Mason Mfg. Co., Anaheim; Evelyn Webber, Deckerts' Surgical Supply Co., Santa Ana; Betty Smeykal, Dennis Printers and Stationers, Santa Ana, and Connie Littlejohn, Cherry Rivet Co., Santa Ana. Flowers also were presented to the guests of the evening, Maxine Wise of Melrose Abbey and Mausoleum, Orange. One new trend in decorating forecast for 1953 involves a new floor stain which permits interesting color variations. There are some 169 colors in the present stain palette, among them tints such as aquamarine, coral, hunter's green, burgundy and jonquil yellow. The growing trend to smaller floor coverings and wider areas of polished floors in contemporary decoration forecasts have wide use. Snow-Pullman Rite Held in las Vegas Lovely Miss Janice Pullman popular daughter of the Donna K. Pullmans of 10881 Magnolia Ave., became the bride of Doe E. Snow, son of Mr. and Mrs. Homer Snow, 17430 Studebalkrd., Artesia, in the chapel of the Flamingo hotel in Las Vegas. Rev. A.C.Melton officiated at an impressive double ring ceremony. Janice's brunette loveliness was enhanced by the powder blue knit suit, with navy accessories, wore for her wedding. Her corset was a single, beautiful orchid. Interesting note in her attire was a gold chain and pendant, set with ar emerald and a saphire, which has been in the family for over hundred years. It came into possession of the bride's great grandfather when he traded it for a pair of oxen. Mr. and Mrs. Robert Buchholz Westminster attended the course as groomsman and matron of honour. Original plans were for a 20 wedding, but "Buddy" received orders to report for army duty this week, and the date had to changed. The bride will continue studies as a senior at AUHS, will make her home in Arteza Upon their return from the homie moon at the Snow cabin in Bear, she installed the new honored queen and 16 initiates at meeting of Job's Daughter Bethel No. 5, Saturday evenlng This completed her six month reign as honored queen of Bethel. They will return before Christmas. The C. R. Rogers Memorial VFW Christmas party will be held Dec. 16 at their hall on Lincoln and Miller rd. Santa will have gifts for the children and the en hamper prepared by the auxiliary will be given away. Tickets are available at the Cypress Variety store of Mr. and Mrs. Essex. The Rev. Jack Tutor of the Cypress Baptist church has received from his recent appendectomy my and will be active in parish activities again. The Cypress Kiwanis view colored pictures of the recent trip to Mexico of Frank Kellogg, former district lieutenant governor when he spoke to the group at dinner meeting at Lloyd's drive this week. Constable Haskell Kelley will program chairman. Ralph Thomson led the singing accompanied Miss Alene Rogers. To add to the happiness of the holiday season, the Ralph Summers of 1018 W. Center receive word of the arrival of their granddaughter. The baby was born to Mr. and Mrs. Freeman House of Walnut Creek Wednesday, Dec. 3. Mr. Freeman will be remembered by Adele Summers. The little girl is welcomed by three brothers Linn, Douglas and James. Mr. Summers left for Walnut Creek Wednesday night. Santa Claus Pays Surprise Visit To Cub Scouts of Pack 105 Pack 105 of the Cub Scouts met in the Freemont cafeteria recently for their regular meeting and a Christmas party. Cub scouts and Christmas parties make a perfect combination, especially when a visit from Santa Claus is thrown in. Mrs. Joe Landiers of den eight brought the meeting to order with the flag salute. A group of boys under the leadership of Mrs. Ivan Woods presented a delightful skit and song combination of Santa Claus puppets surrounding the Christmas tree, and dedicated to pack 105. Each den reported on monthly achievements and a cub representative from each of the nine dens explained assembly procedure of the projects. These projects included leather tooling, shoe shine kits, T. V. stools, an Indian doodle, candle and candle holders, photograph and scrap books and bird houses. The program consisted of an humorous reading, "Santa Claus Finds Pack 105" given by Mrs. Vearl Royer; Mrs. Robert Facklenders of den 9 presented a specialty arrangement of carols, and Walt Taylor, accompanied by Mrs. William Cook at the piano, led the group in singing carols. To the joy and delight of the children, Santa arrived with a bag filled with gifts for everyone, and was greeted and bidden good-bye with carols sung by the bakers. Plans were made for when the pack will have singing in Irvine park for a time Indian council around a campfire. JC Christmas Ball Set for Dec. 13 The annual Christmas formal dance for Fullerton junior college students will be held Saturday evening, Dec. 13, at the Hacienda club near Whittier, announced Student Social Chairman Meredith Barton this week. Playing for the affair will be Paul King and his orchestra, and theme of the dance is "Crystal Cotillion," in line with the Christmas and winter season. Students with Associated Student body cards will be admitted free. Admission for others is $1. Altar Society Holds Election of Officers St. Boniface Altar society held election of officers when they met at the parish for its regular meeting. The Rev. Patrick Pierre, chaplain of the society, gave the welcome address. Elected to serve during the incoming year are the Mmes. C. B. Cromle, president; E. F. Ganahl, first vice president, and altar chairman; L. A. Czapla, second vice president, and amenities chairman, and John Larson, third vice president and ways and means chairman. Also elected were the Mmes. G.-Palm, recording secretary; Charles Barnard, correspondent; Herbert Carter, financial secretary; U. Bauer, treasurer; and Mrs. M. G. Kannad, junior past president.
