St. Margaret Guild Benefit Fashion Tea Fashion-conscious women of Anaheim and vicinity, imbuded with the spirit of holiday parties, have a treat in store when St. Margaret's Guild of St. Andrews Episcopal church of Fullerton stages a benifit tea and fashion show on Saturday, Dec. 6, at 2:00 p.m., at the Anaheim Ebell clubhouse. The show has a two-fold purpose, primarily to raise funds for the St. Andrews' building fund, and to present, at a most opportune time, the latest in holiday and winter cruise fashions. Mrs. Floyd Wildermuth, president of the Guild, Mrs. Hilton L. Dalessi, general chairman, and their various committees have spared no effort to make the show an outstanding event of the holiday season. Holly and Christmas greenery, to be used in decorations and as favors for the guests, is being shipped from one of the finest holly groves in Oregon. Clothes from the Mary Millerick Shop, fashioned from the fabulous new materials and styled in beauty and wearability for holiday parties and winter cruises will be modeled by members of the Guild. Tickets may be obtained by contacting Mrs. Hilton Dalessi, Lambert 5-4046, and at the Mary Millerick Shop. Maxine's Beauty Salon 234 E. Center St. THREE CHARMING MODELS — l. to r., Mmes. Norris J. C. L. Ford, college drama instructor, will direct the three act play. The play concerns a brilliant and charming youth, Gayden Sibley who is irresistible to women. When Emily, a house guest of Gayden’s mother falls desperately in love with him, he pretends to take an interest in her and changes her into a beautiful and sophisticate woman. He teaches her what clothes to wear, what to say, what pictures to admire and what books to read, and becomes Gayden’s own artistic creation. Meanwhile Gayden’s mother has learned that Gayden is a potential psychopathic case and has been warned that some violent fate awaits him. In a climatic scene with Emily, Gayden bitterly disillusions her and reveals his psychopathic potentialities. Center Phone Santa Remembers Infant and Toddler The youngest set is well represented in Santa's pack this year, as toys for the infant and toddler set get special attention from manufacturers striving to keep up with the increase in baby population. New theories of toys to develop coordination of baby muscles, eyes and ears are evident in the 1952 Christmas roundup, according to the American Toy Institute. Though the toys are called educational they are even gayer in color and more fun to play with than the old-fashioned variety of rattles and push-and pull playtings. Hard-duty plastics, washable fabrics and gaily colored rubber and wood toys are high in favor for the playpen set. Safety factors are given thorough consideration, so that toys are germ-proof, washable, un-swallowable and have no sharp corners. A resplendent new rattle is in the form of a stuffed plastic horsehead which clamps on crib or playpen. Brighter colors are evident in rattles and other suction toys which fasten firmly to buggy or highchair tray. Red circus elephants are new additions to the baby gym, which fastens across crib or carriage to provide exercise for infant arms and legs. For future big-leaguers there is a soft, padded plastic ball and bat, sure to delight the heart of Dad as well as Junior. Zoo blocks now are packaged realistically in cages, a permanent storage unit. In the soap-bubble toy lineup is a plastic locomotive which puffs bubbles instead of smoke as it is pushed or pulled. A realistic duck that waddles as it is pulled is popular with the small fry, as is a stuffed whistling giraffe. Almost any variety of pooch, from boxer to peacock, is available.
