'Everlasting Punishment is Lesson Topic
Sin of every sort can be overcome, declares the Lesson-Sermon on "Everlasting Punishment," read in all Churches of Christ, Scientist, Sunday. It is emphasized that punishment for sin is inherent in the sin, and that freedom from punishment involves healing of sin.
This verse from Proverbs (13:21) constitutes the Golden Text: "Evil pursueth sinners: but to the righteous good shall be repayed."
The Apostle John relates the healing of a man "which had an infirmity thirty and eight years." Jesus saith unto him, Rise, take up thy bed, and walk. And immediately the man was made whole, and took up his bed, and walked: ... Afterward Jesus findeth him in the temple, and said unto him, Behold, thou are made whole: sin no more, lest a worse thing come unto thee" (John 5:5, 8, 9, 14).
In "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures" Mary Baker Eddy says, "Healing the sick and reforming the sinner are one and the same thing in Christian Science. Both cures require the same method and are inseparable in Truth." Your true course is to destroy the foe, and leave the field to God, Life, Truth and Love, remembering that God and His ideas alone are real and harmonious." (pp 404, 419).

Negro Choir to Present Service At White Temple
One of the best known Negro choirs in Southern California — that of the Wesley Methodist church in Los Angeles—will be in Anaheim Sunday evening to present the regular 7 p.m. service at the White Temple Methodist church. They will present a program of both great masterpieces in sacred music and Negro spirituals.
This choir was invited to sing before the entire Southern California-Arizona annual conference session of the Methodist church held at the University of Redlands last June, and scored an enormous hit. This liberal Negro church strives constantly to create the best in sacred music, and only uses the old spirituals as a "concession" to the popular tastes of their outside audiences, since they prefer to sing the great classics. Their balanced program of numbers, however, endeavors to portray the cultural growth and contributions of the colored race.
The lead soloist, Marguerite Chapman, will be remembered by Anaheimers for her brilliant work last season at a similar concert in White Temple.
At both the 9 a.m. and 11 a.m. duplicate morning services, Rev. Frank E. Butterworth will continue his series of sermons on the parables discussing "The Third Prodigal."

Out-of-State Money Used to Defeat Prop. 3
SACRAMENTO (AP)—Records in secretary of state's office yesterday showed $32,123 has been contributed by out of state sources to defeat proposition 3 on the state's election ballot.
No. 3 would exempt private, non-profit elementary and high schools from property taxes. California is the only state which does not make such exemptions.
The California Taxpayers Alliance, foe of No. 3, reported in a statement filed pursuant to law, that its receipts to date total $304,186.
Most of the money, the report shows, came from Scottish Rite bodies in California, a dozen other states, Alaska and Puerto Rico. The biggest amount was listed from the Supreme Council, Southern Jurisdiction, Washington, D.C.
Backers of No. 3 listed receipts of $146,885. The supporting organization, Californians for Justice in Education, said its Los Angeles office receipts totaled $16,685; San Diego $28,674 and San Francisco, $101,526.

The "all weather" chamber is unlikely to see use as a vacation meter." It is actually designed to test components on Northrop's F-89D Scorpion allweather interceptor, in production for the U.S. air force.
The air temperature in the chamber can be lowered from 70 to minus 85 degrees Fahrenheit in ten minutes and can be raised from 70 to 180 degrees Fahrenheit in seven minutes. The chamber was designed for operation at any temperature between minus 100 and plus 250 degrees.

In Temperature Room and Climate on Demand
Low temperatures are obtained by a dry ice-methanol system commonly used in the industry for this type of work. In such a system, dry ice is used to cool methanol in a sublimation tank, and the solution is then pumped through the tubes of a finned tube heat exchanger. A fan circulates air from the test chamber through the fins of the heat exchanger and cools he air.
Heating the chamber is accomplished by the fan circulating the air through a group of finned type electric heaters.
The fact rate of temperature change available in the unit and several repeat tests made in a single day.
With related equipment, Northrop checks for altitude and humidity, and with the combination of all this equipment, can simulate weather at Pt. Barrow, Alaska, Mt. Everest or the steaming Amazonian jungle.

WHY
KOREA Talk about loss! This “Police Action” — the undeclared Truman War, has cost all of us a total of 125,000 casualties, and is growing every day. $95 billion ostensibly for defense between ’40 and ’50 that the Truman apologists can’t answer to the satisfaction of the American people.
CORRUPTION Corruption in Federal Government today is sickening to every clear thinking American. Judging by the irrevocable record, graft apparently is not considered wrong — the only impropriety seems to be getting caught taking too much at any one time.
NOW is the time to clean house — rid the varmints the Truman-Pendergast inspired grafters from all departments of the government.
