President Carbon C. Dubbs turned the meeting over to Fire Chairman G. W. Irwin, who presented Joe Scherman, county fire marshal, and Deputy Marshal Ray Suess, who spoke about how to organize a county fire station. The 17 volunteer firemen present organized by signing a charter list. Bill Irwin was elected president, Robert Erikksen, vice-president; Wayne Bartholomew, secretary, and Elmer H. Koeppen, treasurer of the administrative board who will deal with the business matters pertaining to the station. A fire chief, first and second assistant chief and captain will be elected when the men have had enough training to determine who has the ability for the jobs. Other members signed up are M. O. Knutson, King Rutledge, Alfred Stock, Dan Cobb, Harry Tabatt, S. S. Muraoka, Lewis McBratney, Conna E. Pollack, Harold Heitmiller, Richard S. Yater, Malcolm P. Sanders, Donald L. Davis and Lee R. Mitchell. The next meeting, to start training, will be Aug. 28 at 8 p.m., at the station. Don Davis, Pollack and Knutson were appointed as a by-law committee to have their report ready for the meeting. Sherman stressed the fact that no equipment will be placed in the station for actual fire calls until the men are sufficiently trained, which will take three or four months. Anyone placing a fire call in-Stanton area will still phone Zenith 6000, according to Scherman. TUSTIN PLAYBOX through Saturday G. B.
