from the University of North Dakota, and with a B.D. degree from Union Theological Seminary in New York. He served for eight years as pastor of the Onondaga Valley Presbyterian church, Syracuse, N.Y.
Associated with Mr. Glyer Sunday morning will be Charlie Holiday, who, as elder-host, will preside over the worship service; Mrs. William J. Talevich, organist and Mrs. Gilbert Bottger, soloist.
Christian Science
Man's individual being, which includes health, strength, holiness, vision, wisdom, and love, originates in Soul, God, and can never be lost or destroyed, according to the Lesson-Sermon on "Soul" in all Christian Science churches on Sunday.
These words of the Psalmist (119:174,175) will be the Golden Text: "I have longed for thy salvation, O Lord; and thy law is my delight. Let my soul live, and it shall praise thee; and let thy judgements help me."
Bible citations include these verses also from the Psalms (51:10;119:129,133): "Create in me a clean heart, O God; and renew a right spirit within me . . . Thy testimonies are wonderful: therefore doth my soul keep them . . . Order my steps in thy word; and let not any iniquity have dominion over me."
"Soul changeth not," declares Mary-Baker Eddy in "Science and Health with Key to the Scriptures." Again she says, "Sooner or later we shall learn that the fetters of man's finite capacity are forged by the illusion that he lives
Northrop Anaheim Formulates Civil Defense Program
A blueprint for civil defense has been formulated at the Anaheim division of Northrop Aircraft, Inc., it has been announced.
Designed for coordination with the Orange county civil defense organization, Northrop-Anaheim's program will be directed by Earl Moore of Placentia, the plant's protection and security chief.
Plans have been made to survey the factory for former civil defense personnel and to provide training in various phases of home guard activity for others.
First-aid stations will be designated, auxiliary police and fireman units will be recruited and trained, disaster clean-up crews will be chosen from existing maintenance personnel and area war-dens will be appointed in various areas of the plant.
All of the civil defense measures are being undertaken in conjunction with similar activities at Northrop's Hawthorne plant. Some Northrop-Anaheim personnel will receive technical training in the handling of such instruments as contamination detection devices.
Northrop-Anaheim is currently engaged in the assembly of optical range finders for the U.S. army ordnance corps.
Navy Chaplains Hold Services For Marines
Navy Chaplains Hold Services For Marines
Marines in Korea have ample opportunity to attend regular divine services even though they are in the thick of fighting, according to the Navy's Chaplains Division—and many men are taking time out for worship.
Services are held every Sunday at the regimental and battalion command posts and company and platoon positions of the First Marine Division by the 28 Navy Chaplains assigned to the area. The chaplains also visit men in the front lines during the week to hold church services, distribute testaments and religious pamphlets, and to counsel the men.
First Baptist
"Man Reconciled to God" will be the topic for the Rev. Bob Kevorkian's sermon in the 11 a.m. service at First Baptist church Sunday. In the 7 p.m. service, the pastor will speak on "The Growth of Christian Character."
