Costume Day At City Park
Another favorite special activity is in the air for this week at the City park. This is one planned for the younger park goers and only those 10 and under may participate in it. This activity is the annual Costume Day. The time is 1 p.m. Wednesday the 16th, the place is the Greek Theatre in the City park.
Rules are only that the youngsters be 10 years or under and, that the costume be either purchased or home made. Everyone remembers what fun this event was last year and it is hoped to repeat this success again. This is the activity in which the age limit is such to encourage the very young to visit and participate in the events at the City park planned by the Recreation department. We will be looking for you on Costume Day.

The girls named committees and drafted a constitution and by-laws at their first meeting. Election of officers will take place at the August meeting, and the group plans to hold monthly meetings thereafter, on each second Wednesday.
Among graduates who attended the organization meeting were: Anaheim: Viola Tschann, Frances Braddock, Elsie M, Bradley, Eleanor L. Quiggle, Barbara Brown and Isabelle A. MORE ABOUT Japanese
(Continued from Page 1)
ust.
"As is clear from the report," said Tass, "the fundamentals of an aggressive Pacific pact will be laid at the time of the meeting."
As the USA, Franch and Britain well know the Soviet suggestion for a four-power meeting to consider a peace treaty with a unified Germany, has made a weighty impression on German and French opinion.
IT IS BELIEVED here that the Soviets will come up with something that should seize the attention of Japanese and other Asian opinion when and if moves are made to bring Japan into any military association with the United States, Australia and New Zealand.
What the Russians will propose is, of course, known only to the Russians right now.
The Russians have no peace treaty with Japan and they do not recognize the one that was signed in San Francisco.
No one can be fool enough to company drives. About 400 workers are affected by the strike... Forest fires raged in San Bernardino county, necessitating the evacuation of 275 Orange county youngsters at YMCA Camp Osceola. Brush fires were also reported in Oranco last week.
HIWAY—Five deaths brought Orcano highway Holocaust to 47 for the year. Cesario Cabrera, 70, Santa Ana bicyclist, died when struck by a truck. Louis H. Verick, 76, Long Beach, died of injuries sustained in an Anaheim accident. A Pala Indian, Joe Lancaster, 52; Ohto Lee Johnson, 44, of Brea; and Cpl. Frank Monritz, 20, died as the result of other traffic misshaps. Drive carefully or don't drive!
SPORTOPIX — Florence Chadwick, the 32-year-old San Diego divorcee, who was unsuccessful in her Catalina channel swim was successful on her Oranco drug store circuit personal appearance tour... Santa Ana's Stars dropped to third place in the National Nite league following another loss. San Pedro beat the Stars, 2-1. Whittier lead the league (17-3); Long Beach is second (13-7), and Santa Ana (12-8). The second division: San Pedro (11-9), Bellflower (4-16) and Torrance (3-17). El Serreno is the team to beat for the Junior Legion baseball crown. San Diego beat Fullerton, 4-3 and 8-7, to eliminate Glenn Walters' Oranco titlists and fifth area champions from the playoffs.
