ALL PINK APPOINTMENTS were a lovely detail in the wedding services which united Donna Flynn and Robert Capp.
Donna Hoskins Flynn - Robert Capp United in Double Ring Services
White Temple Methodist church was the scene of a beautiful all pink wedding, with the altar decorated in larkspur and gladiolus, June 21, at 8 p.m., when Donna Hoskins Flynn married Robert W. Capp, son of Mr. and Mrs. Paul Capp of Pico.
The daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Hoskins of 10511 Katella ave., was given in marriage by her father, with Rev. Frank Butterworth, pastor assisted by Rev. Joseph Harris, the bride's uncle, retired from Burbank, in performing the double ring ceremony.
The bride was exquisite in pink tulle over satin with insertions of Chantilly lace and carrying a ballerina bouquet of Carol Amling roses and shell pink carnations.
Susan and Linda Flynn attended their mother as flower girls, in short organdy dresses with satin pedal baskets. The maid of honor who was Miss Margaret Maurin, and the bridesmaid, Mrs. Velma Walker, were in ensembles of the same materials as the bride, carrying carnations backed with two toned green and pink satin. All the attendants wore headbands of feathered carnations in shell pink.
Donnal Capp of West Los Angeles served his brother as best man and the ushers were Jim Marshall of Whittier and Ross Walker.
Albert M. Cranston sang "Through the Years" and Edith Browne Shuman and Bill Talevich were a duet in "With These Hands." Mrs. Shuman followed with the prayer song as a solo, "O Perfect Love." Susan Talevich was organist.
A reception followed at Wesley hall. The bride's mother received in an aqua-blue floor length Chantilly lace gown with shell pink carnations, assisted by the bride's aunts, Mmes. Robert Koontz, Hugh J. Nipp an dJoseph Harris. The bridegroom's mother was in rose with identical carnations.
The pink wedding cake with four tiers was handsomely decorated by "Doc" Archer, trainer for the Los Angeles Rams. It was topped with a tulle heart with a tiny bell suspended saying "Bob and Donna" and the date. Standing in the heart were miniature porcelain figures of the couple made by the bride's mother who teaches ceramics at AUHS.
The bride attended Vista high, San Diego State College, Fullerton JC and Whittier College where she was a member of the A Capella Choir. She taught second grade at Magnolia No. 1 school and music at both the Magnolia schools. The bridegroom was educated in Kansas City, Kan.
After a honeymoon in Colorado and Lake Tahoe the couple will make their home in Pico where the bridegroom and his parents are in the restaurant business.
Americans use about 135 pounds of wheat flour per capita annually.
Miss Nancy Estrella Smith was united in marriage to James Walter Hamilton at the Bethel Baptist Church in Anaheim Saturday afternoon at a candlelight service. The Rev. Berthold Jacksteit performed the single ring ceremony. The bride was given by her father. She is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James D. Smith of 10872 Chestnut st., Los Alamitos.
Hamilton, son of Mrs. Helen Hamilton of Yuma, Ariz., has been making his home with cousins, Mr. and Mrs. Albert C. Brown of 3531 Green st., Los Alamitos. He was graduated from Jordan High in Long Beach and is employed at the Douglas Aircraft plant in Long Beach.
The bride was lovely in a white lace and net ballerina styled gown with a lace petal cap dotted with rhinestones holding a short veil.
Mrs. Charles Burrows was the matron of honor and only attendant, in aqua blue frosted nylon with a halo of flowers in her hair.
Carl King was best man. Mrs. Jane Jacksteit sang "O Promise Me" and "I Love You Truly," accompanied by Miss Esther L. Leuschner.
The bride's mother was attired in a purple suit with white accessories, and her grandmother, Mrs. Harry P. Smith of Yakima, Wash., wore a navy suit.
Mrs. Margaret Preece of Los Angeles, the bride's aunt, was also present at the reception for 75 guests on the lawn of the pastor's home.
The bride was graduated from AUHS this month and was a member of Future Nurses. She left for a honeymoon in Northern California in a pink bolero suit with white accessories.
