RECREATION—Now is the time for all youngsters to come to the aid of the recreation program. Don Derr, Anaheim's able recreation director, really has lined up a fine program and has a staff of capable assistants. Clair Van Hoorebeke, f'instance, will supervise the baseball program. He will be assisted by Jimmy Heffron who has just recently returned from a tour of duty with Anaheim's Own—Co. K—in Korea. Dick Glover, the high school athletic director, is to be in charge of the popular swimming program. Joe Critchfield of the Red Cross will work with him. Jim Wright is really doing an outstanding job with the City League Softball program. In fact, it is the best ever. Mrs. Bob Williams will again be in charge of the popular tennis program which this year presented Alice Marble, one of the game's leading exponents.
