APIARISTS — Although history fans to make any special note of the bee culture in and about Anaheim, it is almost certain that many Anaheimers of that day followed the pursuit. It was possible to start with a hundred stands or colonies of bees in October. These would rapidly increase to 400 stands and by July of the following year, a beekeeper could ship 40,000 pounds of the finest honey. Bees were easy to keep. There was considerable wild grass and plants from which the bees could collect nectar. WATER — One of the problems of a semi-arid country is to provide an adequate supply of water.
