The flight will herald the May 17 opening of the big "Alert America" civil defense show at the armory in Exposition park, Los Angeles. The nation-touring convoy of ten huge trailer trucks is being sent to California by the Valley Forge Foundation and the federal Civil Service Administration. "Every effort will be made to have Anaheim represented at the six-day show by all members on our civil defense organization, our school children, and members of all groups interested in preparing our nation against possible attack," said Murdoch. "The reason 'Alert America' can't be brought directly to Anaheim tor the convenience of our people is that it costs thousands of dollars and takes 40 hours time to erect the displays and exhibits," Murdoch asserted in response to inquiries as to why the convoy may be seen only in Los Angeles.
