DANSON HOLLYWOOD—Creating music for laughing is a serious business with Irving Miller, music director for the CBS "Meet Millie" and "Bob Hawk" shows. He is a specialist with the slapstick baton, and any listener spotting his derivative, rowdy brazen music-sounds knows that he is in for a typically-Miller introduction to a comedy show. Funny, how one never realizes the different specialized segments that all make up a good listenable radio show, and, all must work together. In Miller's particular segment, after having delivered an audience "fit for laughing," does he rest? Indeed, no! His work has just begun. For example, on the Bob Hawk of short comedy cues which he directs ad lib to go with the payoff laughs on Hawk's jokes. He has worked out many sound effects by instrumentation. His men can play a bulldozer or a cow; a train or a crowded hotel lobby, and can simulate such moods as laughter and sorrow. He has a song for just about every state in the union. I was curious to know how he reproduces a bulldozer sound. The answer is by drums and trumpet. The electric guitar can run the gamut of human emotions, according to Miller. This maestro of slapstick also possesses the knack of getting concert orchestra volume and overlapping sound from small quently than they did at&T reports that lifts freeze will not expedite tension of the coaxial TELE-TIPS . . . THOUGHT FOR THIS There are three things FREIGHTER IS FILLING H WATER - SHE'S HEELING AT A FRIGHTFUL MILE - WHAT'S THAT? THE CAPTAIN AND WE ARE STILL BOARD CAPTAIN RICKY SAID HE WOULDN'T LEAVE HIS SHIP GEE...IT WAS A WONDERFUL SHOW, "BUCKY", WHAT A FUTURE YOU'VE GOT!! SCIENCE SHOP YEAH...THIS AFTERNOON PARTICULARLY! HERE'S TICKETS TO THE AMUSEMENT PARK! WHEN YOU GET TO SEE IT! I was curious to know how he reproduces a bulldozer sound. The answer is by drums and trumpet. The electric guitar can run the gamut of human emotions, according to Miller. This maestro of slapstick also possesses the knack of getting concert orchestra volume and overlapping sound from small combinations of eight or nine men. This ability is no laughing matter in these days of meager music budgets for both TV and radio. Irving is one of very few musicians who can sit down at the piano and rattle off 2030 popular tunes from memory. He can "vamp until ready" for hours. He learned these in the years he served as pianist for such great society and theater favorites as Emil Coleman and Meyer Davis. He also was featured pianist in New York's Kitz-Carlton, and the Embassy Super club, and other distinguished dine-and-dance spots. But with Irving, it's now always, just music for laughing! DOWN TV-RADIO ROW ... Wonder what auction park CBS picked up the announcer from that handled the Kentuck Derby? ... After 18 months in Manhattan, comedian Ben Blue has decided to shift to Hollywood and work in his own TV show ... In England, 63 per cent of the populace goes to the movies less freeway. TODAY'S CROSS-WORD PUZZLE Peters will be the host of "Family Theater" for a while. It's a mystery on the theater why a million up a movie queen, so at 7:30 to find out ... solves two "perfect" get his "Big Story" to KFI at 9:30. THOUGHT FOR THIS There are three things you will make an excuse to a rainstorm, a tight diet.
