MORE ABOUT... Broadway School (Continued from Page 1) that there will be between 2700 and 2900 students enrolled at the beginning of school next September. The number of students, of course, will depend upon the number of new homes completed and occupied within the school district prior to the beginning of school. This expected increase which may be greater than the 400 new pupils who entered the Anaheim Elementary schools for the first time this past September will require every available classroom if the pupils are to be properly housed. "The Board of Education, therefore, has directed that: "1. Bids be called for the construction of a kindergarten building at the Lincoln school. (Bids open April 24 for a 1500 sq. ft. structure.) "2. That the temporary two-room bungalow which has for the past two years been rented to the Katella school district be returned to the Horace Mann school. "3. That the Broadway school, which is now being used by the County Superintendent of Schools for the education of exceptional children, be renovated and used as a primary school to ease the crowding at three schools which are around it — Benjamin Franklin school, Thomas Jefferson school and Lincoln school. "We believe that these measures will enable the district to comfortably house all Anaheim elementary pupils next year without resorting to double sessions in any of the grades." QUADRUPLE AMPUTEE TAKES A BRIDE—Marine Sgt. Werner W. Reininger, 22, of San Antonio, Texas, kept his vow to escort his pretty bride, the former Jeanette Stretton, 21, of Hayward, Calif., from the altar after their marriage in Oakland Naval Hospital chapel. Reininger, a quadruple amputee of the Korean war, said they will make their home in San Antonio after a two months honeymoon.—(Associated Press photo) FARM WIFE ARTIST attendance area boundaries, and that consequently many of our children will have to attend another school in the district next year. We regret that this is necessary, but in the face of our greatly increased school population there is simply no alternative, as children, be renovated and used as a primary school to ease the crowding at three schools which are around it — Benjamin Franklin school, Thomas Jefferson school and Lincoln school. "We believe that these measures will enable the district to comfortably house all Anaheim elementary pupils next year without resorting to double sessions in any of the grades. "Of course, it should be realized that should all the homes which are now projected in Anaheim be built and occupied that other measures would have to be taken to meet such an increased enrollment. "The citizens of Anaheim should realize that when we have taken these steps that our schools will be at capacity, and that we shall have to begin plans for a building program in the near future. In order to make the fullest use of our school facilities it will be necessary for us to change local AUHS Agriculture Students Win Field Day Honors Eighteen Anaheim Union high school agricultural students, with their advisors, Avon Carlson and Leland Hanson, Saturday brought home honors from the Agricultural Education Field Day held at Kellogg campus of the California State Polytechnic college. SPECIAL VALUE Anaheim Merchants' New FRIDAY -- 9:30 A.M. Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday, S ORE FOR YOUR Rotation Slow-Down to Hold Regular Units in Korea, But Makes U.S. Strong SEOUL, Korea (P)—A slow-down in rotation went into effect today for regular U.S. Army soldiers and drafters in Korea. It won't affect National Guardsmen. They must be discharged by August. Under the new system men in the front line can expect to go home after 10 or 11 months. Men in artillery battalions and supporting units who live in tents near the front and are fired on occasionally can go home after 13 or 14 months. Those at rear headquarters of an infantry division, or in Seoul or Pusan, will be kept in Korea for about 18 months. The new, complex, slow-down system went into effect as the 200,000th American soldier went home from Korea. He is Op. Freddie Leon Clark of Indianapolis. Gen. James A. Van Fleet, commander of U.N. ground forces, personally thanked Clark for a "tough job well done." Van Fleet said the U.S. Eighth Army's rotation system has built up a pool of combat-tested veterans in the U.S."for our national defense." In 21 months of Korean fighting, Van Fleet said,"the strength of approximately 11 divisions has been brought out of the combat area and dispatched to the United States. "In setting a modern military precedent, our rotation system has functioned in time of combat without impeding normal operations. The rotation machinery has moved American manpower in and out of Korea whether the Eighth Army was in attack or braced in defense." The Eighth Army will continue to send about 29,000 soldiers home monthly under the new system. Many of these will be National Guardsmen of the 40th (Southern California) and 45th (Oklahoma) divisions. Eighth Army spokesman said the new system was put into effect to make up for the loss of the Guardsmen and because of the difficulty of getting replacements. Brazil has completed its 12th and final airstrip of a string leading from Manua on the Amazon southeast to Rio de Janeiro.
