AWAY THEY GO WITH MARGARET—Meet the hoofing team of Durante, Truman and Jackson. The president’s daughter finds little time for warbling as Jimmy “Schnozle” Durante (left) and his veteran partner, Eddie Jackson, go into one of their zany routines during a practice session in Los Angeles for the trio’s forthcoming television show. Miss Truman, who has been vacationing between concerts, will be a guest star on the comedy show.—(Associated Press photo) Anaheim Gazette by JOHN S. NEUBAUER He that hath pity upon poor, lendeth unto the Lord Prov. 19:17. BYGONES—Last year you read about a lot of folks who were isolated by a Mid-West blizzard. And how former New York Mayor O’Dwyer discloosed names of Murder, Inc., members in the crime probe that made history. Ramon Probenso (Pez), a transient, was killed in wood when he was hit by a truck driven by Winfred Warner. W. C. Fisher, the Fonte truckdriver, was absolved of blame in the Santa Ana cany accident that caused the death of two people. San Juan Cañon swallows were frightened by throngs of curious visitors. A $212,000 permit was issued to the construction of the Anahe Robertshaw-Fulton plant. Energetie Earnle (Mueller) at the Anaheim Chamber of Commerce were given credit for bringing to Anaheim. You remember the Planning Commission complained that the Chamber Commerce was stealing a lot its thunder. Sportswise: Ana didn’t do so good in the Pomos baseball tournament; 16-0... From the standpoint of past dramatic experience, “The Pink Dress” cast can be easily termed “veterans.” Ronnie Legg, who will be Mr. Willard, the daydreaming father, has been active in speech and drama since he first came to AUHS as a freshman. He played the “Friend” in “Balcony Scene” and more recently the villain in the junior play. Leah Gerber, who had the lead in “Molly O’Shaughnessey,” the brat sister in “Not in a Thousand Years” and the daughter in “Balcony Scene” will be Mrs. Willard, a nagging wife who pampers her daughter Cora. Mary Jo Duncan has the difficult role of Cora, a young girl who steals a formal to go to her prom. Mary Jo was Katie in “Molly O’Shaughnessey” and had the lead with Jerry Farrow in “Not in a Thousand Years.” Jerry Farrow is also in “The Pink Dress” cast as the neighborhood policeman. His last stage appearance was as the dude rancher in the senor play. Remember REMINDER—The recent rains were another reminder that something should be done about the Carbon Canyon run off waters. Palma street is no river. Well, there’ll be a couple of outstanding men trying to get Sam’s Assembly job—Lawyer Roy Lyons, Jr., and Publish Frank Rospaw of Placentia. Might good men, but it seems that Lyons the navee man, has the insistence track. He’s campaigning vigorously... That reminds when LeRoy Lyons, Sr., ran for the county supervisor’s post held by Ralph McFadden. B Schumacher was supervisor, but the elder Lyons’ active campaigning, made Bill the ex-supervisor... Director George Gerwing is conducting rehearsals of a score of principals, headed by Dorothy Bailey, of San Jacinto, playing Ramona for the second season, and Maurice Jara, of Claremont portraying the Indian hero for the first year, in the bowl. At the same time, more than 100 members of the vocal chorus are rehearsing in the elementary school auditorium at Hemet, and the Spanish dancers, in San Jacinto. Elaborate plans for San Jacinto’s grand fiesta, April 25-27, celebrating the anniversary; are nearing completion. General Manager, Park G. Parker, busily is engaged with Ramona Pageant association directors arranging special commemorative ceremonies for the opening. Dates of the 1952 play are April 19, 20, 26 and 27 and May 3 and 4. Tickets are available in Anaheim at the Nerath Music Co., 157 W. Center st. FARRELL FIGHTS FOR FREE-DOM! —Pol. Adv. EDWARD FAULKNER (Opposes McFadden) Faulkner Files For Supervisor McFadden’s Seat Edward Faulkner of West Anaheim announced this week that he will file nomination papers for Supervisor representing the 3rd district in Orange county. He is running for the office now held by Ralph McFadden. Faulkner, at the age of 88, has headed two corporations in recent years. He established business offices of the Ring-in Chemical laboratories, which he now owns, in Buena Park. He is business manager of two hospitals located in Artesia and Long Beach. The automotive chemical His laboratory manufactures is distributed all over the United States and Hawaii. Faulkner activated and headed as president for two years the Stanton Chamber of Commerce. He served on the board of directors of the Associated Chambers of Commerce of Orange county for two years. An active Lion, Faulkner was a charter member of the Stanton club and now belongs in Buena Park. He headed the March of Dimes campaign for the Buena Park area which was sponsored by the Lions club. Born and schooled in Kansas City, Mo., Faulkner moved to California in 1939, building his present home at 9902 Western INKSOME — One of Charles Griffith's most annoying tasks on election day will be recording the write-in candidates. Remember the pamphleteers of a few years ago. That was the campaign in which the late Colonel Barry, the San fana publisher, took an active part... Danny O'Hanlon, the Fullerton realestater, actually enjoys electioneering. Y'know, the guild polled almost as many write-in votes over the years as he did when he ran seriously... I always did think that Anaheim's Jimmy Heffron would have made a mighty good representative in Sacramento. The beloved, silver thatched sports authority knew more about human nature and people than most politicians ever will... Gov. Lotus Loudon, the late Anaheim publisher, likewise liked to dabble in politics. His bid for a seat in Congress fell short... In politics, a lotta good men fall by the wayside. Every candidate doesn't have the public esteem as Tommy Kuchel died when he was getting started. People will vote for an aggressive square shooter regardless of the political ticket he runs on.
